Preventative Maintenance Technician

DIS-TRAN Steel, located in Pineville, LA, is looking for an experienced Preventive Maintenance Technician to join our team.

Experience in preventive maintenance within an industrial manufacturing facility is required. The Preventive Maintenance Technician will be responsible for servicing all machinery on-site, including forklifts, cranes, and other industrial equipment. Knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems is preferred. This position requires performing scheduled maintenance, inspecting equipment, troubleshooting issues, and conducting necessary repairs to ensure safe, efficient, and continuous operation. The ability to read and interpret maintenance schedules and work orders is required.

• Learns and follows safety regulations and procedures.
• Regularly inspects forklifts, cranes, and other machinery for maintenance needs or potential issues.
• Takes action to prevent hazards or obstructions in the work area.
• Operates hand and power tools, diagnostic equipment, and machinery safely and effectively.
• Monitors equipment to ensure compliance with safety and operational standards.
• Performs preventive maintenance tasks, including lubrication, cleaning, adjustments, and repairs, according to the schedule.
• Coordinates maintenance activities with production schedules to minimize downtime.
• Documents maintenance activities accurately in the maintenance management system.
• Troubleshoots and performs repairs on equipment as needed, ensuring prompt resolution of mechanical and operational issues.
• Orders or requests replacement parts to keep machinery in optimal condition.

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret maintenance schedules and reports required.
• Certifications or prior experience in maintenance for industrial machinery such as forklifts, cranes, and HVAC systems preferred.
• Working knowledge of maintenance tools, diagnostic equipment, and safety protocols preferred.
• Ability to perform routine maintenance tasks and troubleshoot mechanical issues.
• Must complete on-site training and demonstrate safe operation of maintenance equipment.
