· Founded in January of 2024, Rocket Youth Brands, LLC (RYB) partners with youth sports enterprises across the United States providing access to capital, resources, technology and a best-in-class back office to help those firms achieve profitable growth. To date RYB has partnered with 13 entities and has a consolidated revenue of approximately $50 million as of November 30, 2024.
Shield Technology Partners, LLC
· Founded in November of 2024, Rocket Youth Brands, LLC (STP) partners with youth enterprises across the United States providing access to capital, resources, technology and a best-in-class back office to help those firms achieve profitable growth. By year-end STP will have partnered with 2 entities and have a consolidated revenue of approximately $30 million as of November 30, 2024.
About the Role
The Internal Tax Manager will be responsible for managing the tax compliance, planning, and reporting requirements for ZBS Partners Funds, Crete PA, RYB, and STP. The role requires strong accounting skills, exceptional organizational abilities, and the capacity to lead special projects. The ideal candidate will ensure adherence to all regulatory requirements, identify tax-saving opportunities, and optimize accounting processes.
Key Responsibilities
Tax Compliance & Planning:
Manage all aspects of tax compliance, including federal, state, and local tax filings for the parent company and its subsidiaries.
Develop and implement tax strategies to optimize the organization's tax position.
Prepare and review quarterly and annual tax provisions in accordance with applicable accounting standards.
Act as the primary liaison with external tax advisors and regulatory authorities during audits or inquiries.
Accounting & Financial Reporting:
Reconcile tax accounts and prepare supporting documentation for tax filings.
Collaborate with finance teams to ensure the accuracy and timeliness of financial data.
Special Projects:
Lead cross-functional initiatives to enhance efficiency in tax and accounting processes.
Provide insights and recommendations for corporate structuring, acquisitions, or reorganizations.
Support the development and implementation of technology solutions to streamline tax and accounting workflows.
Research and document complex tax issues and provide recommendations to leadership.
Team Collaboration:
Work closely with partner entities to align on tax strategies and compliance requirements.
Provide guidance and training to staff on tax-related matters.
What you’ll need
Basic Qualifications:
CPA designation required.
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; Master’s in Taxation or a similar discipline is a plus.
Minimum of 5+ years of experience in tax compliance and accounting, preferably within a public accounting or corporate environment.
Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local tax regulations, as well as GAAP principles.
Proven experience with tax research tools and accounting software
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working with or within CPA firms.
Demonstrated success in managing complex tax and accounting projects.
Familiarity with tax planning for multi-entity structures.

As the Internal Tax Manager, you’ll be in the pivotal role of managing all aspects of tax compliance, planning, and reporting for our investment advisory firm and its partners—Crete Professionals Alliance, Rocket Youth Brands, and Shield Technology Partners. You’ll work closely with our CFO and VP of Finance, using your strong accounting skills to ensure that we adhere to regulatory requirements while also identifying potential tax-saving opportunities. Your days will be filled with tax compliance tasks, including managing federal, state, and local tax filings, preparing quarterly and annual tax provisions, and running special projects aimed at optimizing our accounting processes. Collaboration will be key; you’ll be the go-to person for our finance teams as well as external advisors. Your knack for organization and exceptional communication skills will help guide and train others on tax-related issues.
