As a Manager of CSR and Employee Giving, this person plays a critical role in the day to day activities and management of BI’s employee giving program including “Cause Cards”, volunteer programs, and special community programs that support SD4G. This person works within the BI Cares Foundation, which is the independent philanthropic arm of Boehringer Ingelheim and operates completely separately from the company. BI Cares Philanthropy actively contributes to the overall company reputation.
This person plays a crucial role strengthening the relationships between BI and the communities where its employees work and live by overseeing gifts to and philanthropic support of community nonprofits that best align with BI Cares mission and strategy. An important aspect of this role will be reporting and metrics on the nonprofit and community based programs that BI Cares supports.
The Manager CSR and Employee Giving will manage employee volunteer initiatives including employee engagement, governance of program, and reporting on metrics and outcomes. They will work closely with the BRGs and the D&I committee members.
The manager will work with multistakeholder teams in HP, IU, AH, and site leads to manage the asset/equipment donation process. Over the last few years BI has donated millions of dollars worth of assets to charitable organizations.
Additional primary duties include managing the approval process for the Charitable & Philanthropic grants, Employee Giving (Volunteer and Matching Gifts), In Kind Donations, Disaster Relief, and Operational Support which includes
developing reports on metrics and outcomes for the community programs that BI Cares Foundation supports, and assisting leadership on delivering outcomes to key stakeholders.

  • Bachelor’s degree required; masters preferred
  • 3-5+ years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry or large nonprofit setting
  • Strong understanding of the BI Cares Foundation, Corporate Giving, and the philanthropic community at large
  • Ability to create and execute strategies
  • In-depth knowledge of the facets of analytics and data management
  • Demonstrated self-motivation and the ability to work independently
  • Ability to work well under pressure
  • Established resource with advanced business process and project management knowledge
  • Ability to prioritize competing projects
  • Demonstrated ability to manage budgets and resources
  • Demonstrated teamwork and collaboration
  • Ability to make sound business decisions within management of projects

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without restriction.
  • Must be willing to take a drug test and post-offer physical (if required).
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
