Current Operations Officer

Join our team and help us deliver cutting-edge technology to the men and women of the U.S. Marine Corps as a Current Operations Officer. This role is unique in the fact that you can employ your skills to manage day-to-day operational activities. If you enjoy coordinating meetings, developing agenda items, attending meetings, generating minutes and tracking action items, this role is for you!

PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Establishes and maintains current operational management practices
  • Details an agile management structure to ensure a continuity of operations and current operation task execution
  • Identifies training and education requirements of assigned staff and agencies associated with readiness and mission requirements and develops plans of action within the organization to ensure timely completion in accordance with applicable policy and direction
  • Advises senior leaders and staff, provides assessments and recommendations on the effectiveness of the processes, programs, and policies in place, and develops current initiatives to enhance productivity and organizational success as it relates to current operations
  • Develops, receives, and distributes message traffic both internal and external to the organization to ensure delivery of information and requirements is timely and accurate
  • Maintains knowledge in system requirements and operation of Automatic Message Handling System (AMHS) and Enterprise Task Management Software Solution (ETMS2) in support of this task
  • Develops and maintains process flows and business rules regarding passing information internally, laterally, and to higher headquarter to ensure awareness and understanding in support of the organization's mission
  • Manages and coordinates Requests for Information (RFIs) and Feasibility of Support (FOS) inquiries across the organization by sourcing and tasking applicable departments to ensure responses are formatted, documented, and delivered within required deadlines.
  • Oversees Information Management/Knowledge Management programs for the G-3 (Operations) section to adequately leverage information and knowledge assets required to refine and develop initiatives that enhance the achievement of objectives from the Marine Corps Warfighting Lab's Campaign Plan
  • 10% annual travel required
Requirements:
MINIMUM SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS:
  • This job requires a minimum of a Bachelor's degree in a relevant technical discipline and three years' experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • The primary or most necessary skills required for this job are analytical skills, administrative, communication, teamwork, short-term planning, and problem solving skills
  • Prior U.S. Marine Corps operations experience in information collection, management and representation
  • Prior experience supporting a team
  • Excellent drafting and editing skills, with the proven ability to produce cogent reports often under strict time constraints, and to critically review and edit the work of others
  • Active TS/SCI clearance
