This full-time, shift position is located in the Facilities Department - Housekeeping at Colorado Community College System. Primary duties and responsibilities include: clean and maintain campus facilities such as classrooms, restrooms, offices and all public areas. Pick up and remove trash from all internal areas and replace liners. Wipe down and clean classroom tables, counters and office desks. Clean white boards, clean and disinfect restroom floors, sinks, counters, mirrors, walls and partitions, toilets and urinals. Clean and shine all stainless steel including drinking fountains. Replenish paper towels, toilet paper, and soap in dispensers. Vacuum, sweep, wet mop or dry mop all public areas such as lounges, entrances, restrooms, corridors, stairs, offices, classrooms and laboratories; high and low dusting. Shampoo carpets, buff tile floors, strip and wax hard surface flooring; shampoo upholstery as scheduled. Clean light fixtures and light switch plates; wash windows and walls. Report maintenance problems; ensure security of assigned areas is maintained. Operate, clean and maintain housekeeping equipment such as floor scrubbers, carpet extractors and floor buffers. Operate campus vehicles for transporting cleaning equipment. Maintain external campus facilities 10' from buildings by assisting with snow removal and sweeping sidewalks and door entrance ways. Move furniture, boxes, equipment and other items as needed. Use specified chemicals or cleaning methods for different types of spills or needed clean-up. Utilize computer to check daily work orders, complete timesheets, leave requests, etc.
Minimum Qualifications: Six months of recent custodial experience as the primary function of the job. Position requires a current, valid driver's license in order to drive a state vehicle on Saturdays from building to building with supplies. Must have excellent customer service skills in order to work with internal and external customers. Must be able to perform strenuous physical labor. Explain use and care of equipment used in detail on your application. Applicant must be willing to work different shifts (day and/or night), including holidays if necessary. Part-time experience will be pro-rated.

Preferred Qualifications: Knowledge/experience in proper methods to strip and re-wax hard surface flooring; knowledge of custodian chemicals and their use; proper methods of handling waste and an understanding of environmental issues when using and handling cleaning products; proper sanitation procedures for restrooms; minimum 6 months prior experience in hard floor and carpet maintenance, operating floor scrubbers, carpet extractors, and floor buffers. Attention to detail and ability to handle multiple tasks; effective communication skills (oral and written), and strong time management and organizational skills. Ability to work as a member of a team as well as an individual contributor; self motivated. Prior experience operating a computer. Prior experience utilizing MS Word, Excel and Outlook.
