Position Summary:
The position is responsible for maintaining clean and orderly facilities for students, faculty, staff and visitors. As part of a self-directed team, the position will take initiative to schedule cleaning and maintenance activities. Poistion reports to the Associate Director of Facilities and Capital Planning for Recreation and Wellbeing.

Duties may include:

• Perform basic cleaning, sanitization and trash collection in and around the Student Recreation Center (SRC)
• Maintain cleaning equipment and supplies
• Notify occupants of cleaning and floor maintenance schedules
• Maintain clean and clear walkways, ensuring they are free of debris, litter, snow and ice
• Respond to emergencies and assist other departments when needed to ensure optimum service
• Ensure that assigned areas are opened and locked as scheduled
• Assist with training new employees
• Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:

• Performing cleaning tasks

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience operating industrial high-speed cleaning equipment; performing minor maintenance on custodial equipment; and explaining the use and maintenance of custodial equipment
• Expressed interest in learning and acquiring skills related to custodial services

Physical Requirements & Working Conditions:
Must be able to:

• Clean and maintain mens locker room facilities while SRC is open and patrons present
• Work custodial shift from 5:30am-2pm, Monday-Friday
• Climb ladders, bend and stoop
• Lift, carry or otherwise move items weighing up to 50 pounds
• Stand and walk continuously throughout the workday
• Work in inclement weather conditions
