Job Summary

This position provides administrative and clerical support to the Service Response(Customer Service) department in a variety of support functions such as Event Management, Key Issue and Customer Service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Providing excellent customer care and serving the needs of our university.
  • Process event certifications.
  • Data entry and processing of work orders.
  • Provide key issue services during absences and peak periods.
  • Provide reception services for the front office.
  • Provide administrative support and assistance to Facilities Management managers and staff.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities

  • Computer knowledge.
  • Working knowledge of spreadsheet and word processing programs.
  • Ability to learn and use the computerized in-house maintenance management system
  • Ability to learn and use campus event management system
  • Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate with all levels of administration, faculty, and staff.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Demonstrated past experience in a customer service-oriented environment.
  • Working knowledge of various types of paging systems, i.e. radio, walkie talkie, etc. Work experience using multi-line phones.
  • Must possess exceptional organizational/communication and interpersonal skills; Ability to adapt to changing client situation
  • Capacity to think creatively.
  • Ability to relate well to individuals and groups with widely varying backgrounds, perspectives, education and skills; ability to work well in stressful, high-pressure, high-profile situations. Ability to multi-task responsibilities related to events and facilities services
  • Ability to communicate effectively with customers, co-workers, contractors, and the public, both orally and in writing.
  • Excellent oral and written communication, interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Working knowledge of spreadsheet and word processing programs.
  • Ability to work nights and weekends.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize projects.

Education and Experience

Equivalent to three years of administrative support experience required. Bachelor's degree is preferred.

Licenses / Certificates

Valid California driver's license preferred.

Compensation

Salary placement is determined by the education, experience, and qualifications the candidate brings to the position, internal equity, and the hiring department’s fiscal resources.

CSU Classification Salary Range: $3,338 - $4,913 per month.

Benefits

Excellent benefits through CalPERS (health, vision, dental), tuition fee waiver, generous vacation and sick leave, and 14 paid holidays each year.

Time Base

1.0 time-base, 40 hours per week.

Duration of Appointment

This is a temporary position for 1 year with no permanent status granted. Temporary assignments may expire prior to the ending date.

Physical Summary

Sedentary work - Involves mainly sitting. Walking and standing are minimal. Lifting is limited to lightweight objects. (10 pounds or less).
