Job Description Summary

Reponsible for leading, consulting or overseeing multiple architectural engagements. Will work on highly complex projects that require in-depth knowledge within technical, solutions, business or information domains.

You are a seasoned Cyber Security Leader with a passion for team-based formation of advanced cyber-based product development and actionable systems. In this role, you will mature your team's capabilities and adapt defensive secure development practices to help the development and engineering teams build secure products and services. As the Director of Product Security, you will apply your knowledge of management, secure software and system development methodologies, best practices and proven processes to help deliver secure products. However, you think as a security researcher who thrives on addressing real world problems and likes to code.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate very strong technical leadership and people management skills including solid communication and analytical skills with thorough understanding of product security, development and successful problem definition, decomposition, estimation and resolution

  • Influence decision making through active partnership with cross-functional teams

  • Manage strategic business partnerships and relationships through Technical, Financial, Contractual and Relationship management

  • Plan and manage budgets related to scope of team

  • Communicate effectively both within immediate team and GE leadership. Ensure team receives consistent messages and has clear understanding of business direction, strategy and results

  • Build a world class product security team to consistently deliver world class advisory services and tooling, to help build secure and complex platforms

  • Guide team to drive tailored SDL practice into specific engineering

  • Consult architect on security requirements and utilize best practices to meet them

  • Accountable for backlog of security-related tools that will improve the maintainability and security of our platform and products, and the pace of development

  • Promotes standards through Secure Development Lifecycle (SDL) workshops, knowledge shares, and code walk-throughs

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 8 years minimum experience
  • 2 years’ experience in cybersecurity – familiar with terms and concepts
  • Must be willing to travel a minimum of 50%

Preferred Qualifications

  • Ability to consult customer on alignment of outcomes and desired technical solutions at an enterprise level

  • Ability to Analyze, design, and develop a software solution roadmap and implementation plan based upon a current vs. future state of the business.

  • Working knowledge of configuration choices and related cost implications; Experience with complex solution configurations.

  • Knowledgeable of full range of solution catalog within a business unit and able to discuss overall solution at depth.

  • Experience sustaining operational stability through various life cycle phases (planning, implementation, steady state, de-commissioning); Ability to provision and budget via capital and operating.

  • Able to lead early stage customer interactions; Guide customers as they develop confidence and comfort with approaches, and integrate with their legacy tech investments.

  • Sales experience of cyber security products or has lead a team within a large organization – protecting the organization/products.


Due Diligence

  • Determine best assessment approach considering timelines and collaboration opportunities.

  • Develop process to determine Green/Yellow/Red Cyber recommendations for investment

  • Determine best way to meld but cover both Cyber Enterprise and Cyber Product

Acquisition & Divestiture

  • Identify critical Cyber tasks through various lifecycles of A&D efforts. Engage teams and resources

  • Help prioritize Cyber work and integrate plans with Program mgmt. and Transformation teams

  • Develop repeatable structure – maximize reuse - improve maturity

  • Identify key cyber risks to all entities. Record, track metrics, remediate.

  • Limit any Acquisition & Divestiture conflict with SMO/SPIN activities and planning. Consider EuX hops and pathing – optimize and align plans where possible.

  • Consider/Plan cyber team capacity and resourcing if new unplanned A&D work is required.

  • Develop “go” | “no go” Cyber criteria for various Milestones within A&D lifecycle (e.g. day1 untrusted, lifeline connectivity, critical services, PC deployments, app migrations, etc.)

The salary range for this position is $152,000.00 - $228,000.00. The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate’s experience, their education, and the work location. In addition, this position is eligible for a performance bonus. Available benefits include health, welfare, retirement and paid leave.
