Cyber Security Engineer - Mid Level - job 4 of 5

JOB SUMMARY

Location: Any CSI office.


Cyber Security Engineers install, configure, and ensures proper operation of security systems and services to prevent malicious activity. They validate escalations, analyzes the situation, and makes decisions for corrective action.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responds to internal and external client requests. Requests include but are not limited to firewall changes, DNS creation/modification, renewing/purchasing SSL certificates, and secure configuration of hosted sites and services.
  • Cyber Security Engineers manage cloud environments and develop/configure these cloud environments using technologies such as Terraform and other infrastructure as code frameworks.
  • Installs and configures firewalls, intrusion preventions systems, web application firewalls, and agents in accordance with current industry standards and best practices to create a secure environment and protect enterprise data.
  • Proactively mitigates threats through active collaboration with the Cybersecurity Analysts.
  • Performs recurring vulnerability mitigation by upgrading device software to a non-affected version, or modification to the current configuration to remediate vulnerabilities.
  • Completes continuing education requirements to maintain an appropriate understanding of the evolving security landscape.
  • Performs other duties as required.

PRIMARY RESULTS ACCOUNTABLE FOR ACHIEVING

  • Ensure client’s networks are operating to the highest security standards and are adequately protected from an evolving list of threats.
  • Preventing common attack vectors, retrospectively respond to an IOC or infection on the network.
  • Maintaining an acceptable level of risk by timely remediation of vulnerabilities.
  • Management of 200+ customer networks.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Education & Certifications:

Accredited university, college, trade school education, or equivalent experience and training in applicable technology.

Experience:

Professional level position in described technology, two(2) year of relevant experience preferred.

Prior experience with DevSecOps or DevOps Preferred.

RELATIONSHIP BUILDING

This position requires contact throughout the organization. Contact outside the company is minimal.

This position requires the use of judgment to plan and perform; general decisions are made to solve a problem or select a course of action for a standard or recognized method of operation.

SUPERVISION RECEIVED

General Supervision. Assignments are both task-oriented and objective-oriented. Work is reviewed for soundness of judgement and overall adequacy and accuracy.
