Job Title: Legal AssistantTeam/Department: LegalLocation: Carlsbad, CA (On-site)Hours: Full-timeEmployment Type: Direct HireBase Salary Range: $55,000 - $75,000This San Diego client is seeking to hire a Legal Assistant with experience supporting litigation attorneys, with a background in medical/healthcare law.Key Responsibilities• Maintains attorneys' calendar, including docketing all court appearances, meetings, depositions, and deadlines.• Schedules court appearances, client meetings, depositions and other engagements. Ensures there are no scheduling conflicts and notifies attorneys of pending deadlines.• Prepares and files pleadings and other Court documents and serving all appropriate parties.• Serves as intermediary between attorneys, firm personnel and the courts, relaying communications between each groupQualifications• 2+ years as a Legal Assistant within a law firm supporting attorneys practicing medical malpractice defense litigation or other defense litigation.• Knowledge of concepts, terminology, principles and procedures of the law.• Knowledge of functions and jurisdictions of local, state and federal courts and related agencies including knowledge of filing requirements for each court.• Proficient in MS Office Suites: Word, Excel, Outlook, Billing Software, and On-Line Document Management SoftwareBenefits• Competitive total compensation ($55K+ based on experience)• Full benefit package including group medical, dental, and vision coverage• Basic Life Insurance, long-and short-term disability, AD&D• 401(k) Plan• Annual Wellness benefits• 37.5-hour work week• Referral bonus program• Paid Holidays and Paid time offEmail Your Resume In Word ToLooking forward to receiving your resume through our website and going over the position with you.
