We design, build, service and operate the advanced equipment found in todays most complex environments.General Skills/RequirementsProficiency in EnglishStrong interpersonal and oral/written communication skillsAttention to details with strong analytical and problem-solving abilitiesSolid time management skillsProfessional appearanceAbility to interact professionally with clients, subcontractors, and suppliersPhysically able to navigate/attend bid-walks and site visits at active construction sitesClean criminal background and credit historyMust pass drug screening and background check (pre-employment and random)Potential Job ResponsibilitiesEngineering, Sales, and EstimatingGenerate new sales/customers and maintain existing customer baseMaintain and build relationships with clients by offering competitive and accurate bids and providing innovative solutionsConceptual estimating/budgetingMechanical piping/HVAC system design as needed for design-build estimates/projectsRead and understand mechanical piping/HVAC drawingsReview project specifications to ensure bid compliancePerform accurate quantity take-offs and utilize unit pricing method to generate project estimatesSolicit quotations from subcontractors and suppliersCompile take-offs and quotations to prepare accurate and timely estimatesPrepare and submit proposals to customersProject ManagementManage multiple mechanical piping/HVAC projectsReview contracts to ensure complianceDirect and monitor sold projects from start to completionManage project material buyouts/purchasingMeet with contractors and vendors to ensure quality product and timely deliveriesManage construction budget by monitoring project expenditures, identifying and evaluating variances in expenditures vs. estimate, and negotiating change ordersCreate/process submittals, RFIs, change orders, billings, closeout documents and other project related documents/processesWork with other project management team members to facilitate and oversee field crew installations and subcontractors on multiple projects regular interaction with union tradesmenSupport foremen and field staff with project needsVisit projects to review work and ensure safe/on-time field installations.Experience/EducationPrior experience with commercial/industrial mechanical estimating and/or project management (or technical training in mechanical HVAC field)Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent trade/related experience7+ years experience in the mechanical piping and HVAC construction industryBasic knowledge of construction accountingProficient in Microsoft suite of general office programsE. License or E.I.T.
