Data Scientist - Analytics Engineer

About the Role: 

CYDERES is looking for a dedicated, creative, and experienced Data Analytics Engineer to join our Managed Services Engineering team. We are looking for someone who can apply their analytics, reporting, and dashboard development experience to support and maintain a client-facing BI tool (Looker). This position will work with teams internally and clients externally to integrate new data sets, build dashboards, provide support, and perform ongoing enhancements. Candidate should be able to handle high-priority demands while driving consistent results and have a passion for delivering valuable data insights to clients. Candidate should also bring the right attitude to the team including accountability, ownership, and positivity. We embrace the fast-paced development field and are looking for like-minded individuals that have a passion for continual improvement, new languages/ideas, tinkering with new projects, and taking on complex problems. 

• Design and implement business visualizations and dashboards to deliver security data insights to clients 
• Provide production support for Looker dashboards and reporting 
• Translate business requirements into useful visualizations, dashboards, and reporting  
• Analyze existing dashboards to provide feedback and continually enhance them 
• Assist with data model development and machine learning model implementation 
• Provide production support and solve complex business intelligence challenges 
• Advocate for an efficient and positive user experience (UX) for our clients 
• Help lead technical implementations of roadmap items 
• Help other engineers fix their code or solve complex problems 
• Work with senior developers and leadership to improve codebase and system reliability 

• Minimum of 2 years in software development, data science, or data analytics engineering 
• Proficiency in SQL, Python,or similar query/coding languages 
• Prior experience in analytics or a BI tool supporting building dashboards (such as PowerBI) 
• Understand the basics of data analysis and the relationships between data sets 
• Strong written and oral communication skills, must be able to explain data and dashboards to an audience with a variety of technical skills 
• Knowledge in data analytics, data science, or related quantitative field 
• Prior experience building visualizations in popular big data platforms (such as Looker) 
• Knowledge of best practices for dashboard design, including UI/UX concepts 
• Practical knowledge of containerization and orchestration (Kubernetes / Docker) 
• Familiarity with fundamental principles of cybersecurity, or MSSP experience 
• Familiarity with Google BigQuery and Looker 
• Machine learning experience
