Minimum Qualifications

  • 2 years of experience using SQL or other querying languages to create data sets and perform data analysis in a business setting
  • Bachelor’s degree in mathematics, applied statistics, a related field or 4 years of equivalent business experience
  • Experience working within the business to create strategic and actionable takeaways, and the ability to provide solutions and expose areas of opportunity
  • Experience creating data visualizations using modern BI tools
  • Demonstrated ability to execute end-to-end data analysis projects
  • Demonstrated ability to apply statistical methods in a business environment
  • Demonstrated ability to apply a scientific approach to answering questions and/or solving problems
  • Working knowledge of standard statistical measures, probability theory and both qualitative and quantitative techniques

Preferred Qualifications

  • 4 years of experience performing data analysis in a business setting
  • 4 years of experience using SQL or other querying languages to work with data sets
  • Proficient knowledge of business/industry domain
  • Understanding of data mining or other techniques to scrub data
  • Demonstrated understanding of structured and unstructured data sets
  • Knowledge of data warehousing
  • Understanding of how data flows between systems

Job Summary

As a Data Analyst, you'll be responsible for collecting, analyzing and reporting data to recommend data-driven solutions to clients, team members and business leaders. In this role, you'll use a range of tools and methodologies, including statistics and technical expertise to generate results that highlight useful insights and expose areas of opportunities. You'll also specialize in taking data from various sources with the purpose of turning numbers into information that influences decision making.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare standard and custom reports that define, evaluate, synthesize and visualize current trend data to recommend actionable solutions to key stakeholders
  • Provide strategic support for existing reports, dashboards or other tools to ensure successful implementation of chosen problem solutions
  • Identify and collect the appropriate data to match the business’ needs by designing surveys, opinion polls or other instruments
  • Define, gather, validate and evaluate data requirements and quality
  • Analyze and interpret data using descriptive analysis techniques, experimental designs, sampling techniques and analytical methods
  • Analyze, manipulate or process large sets of data for statistical modeling and graphic analysis
  • Assemble sets of assumptions and explore the consequences of each set to identify relationships, trends and other factors that could affect the results of the analysis
  • Collaborate with senior leaders and process owners and monitor reporting to identify business problems or objectives that can be addressed through data analysis
  • Analyze information obtained from the business to conceptualize and define research questions
  • Leverage a variety of sources to observe the current system in operation to gather information about each of the parts of component problems
  • Maintain or update business intelligence tools, databases, dashboards, systems, or methods and communicate information regarding them
  • Create data analysis tools or systems, including design of related spreadsheets and outputs
  • Review technical design documentation like reusable knowledge assets to ensure the accurate development of reporting solutions
  • Identify and analyze industry or geographic trends for business strategy implications
  • Stay abreast of industry or business trends that pertain to data
