Data Base Administrator

Meritage Homes is hiring for a SQL Server DBA with Business Objects Experience to:

• Administer, monitor, and maintain SQL Server databases to ensure optimal performance, availability, and security.
• Design, implement, and manage database backup and recovery strategies.
• Perform database capacity planning and monitoring to ensure scalability and efficient resource utilization.
• Collaborate with the development team to optimize SQL queries and improve database performance.
• Troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues and incidents in a timely manner.
• Ensure data integrity, consistency, and accuracy by implementing appropriate data validation and quality control processes.
• Provide technical expertise and support to the Business Insights and reporting team in leveraging Business Objects for data extraction, reporting, and analysis.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to gather and document database requirements for new projects.
• Stay up to date with industry best practices and emerging technologies in SQL Server, Microsoft Power Suite, and Business Objects.

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• Minimum of 4+ year’s as a SQL Server DBA, with in-depth knowledge of SQL Server database administration, performance tuning, and optimization.
• Strong proficiency in SQL query optimization techniques and troubleshooting database performance issues.
• Solid understanding of database backup and recovery strategies and disaster recovery principles.
• Experience working with Microsoft Power Suite, Azure Datafactory, Business Objects, including report development, universe design, and administration.
• Minimum of4+ years’ experience with data transformation, ETL/ELT (Extract, Transform, Load) processes and data integration methodologies.
• Knowledge of database security best practices and experience implementing security measures.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex database issues.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.

Preferred Skills:

• Microsoft certifications in SQL Server administration or Business Intelligence.
• Experience with other database management systems (e.g., ETL/ELT, SSIS, Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL).
• Familiarity with database security, cloud-based database platforms (e.g., Azure SQL Database).
• Knowledge of data warehousing concepts and dimensional data modeling.
• Experience with other reporting and analytics tools (e.g., Power BI)
