Job Summary:
Rahi Systems is looking to expand our team of energetic, committed, and diligent installation technicians. You will pull and terminate structured cabling, install infrastructure for speakers, cameras, displays, video walls and projectors, and integrate devices to form fully functional Audio and Video Conferencing and IT systems. As the backbone of our installation team, you will work with Lead Techs, Foremen and Commissioning Technicians to install AV/IT solutions from start to finish.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Performing ongoing maintenance on servers and network equipment.
- Performing system migrations, including unracking/racking equipment, packing and transport within the DC or campus safely and in a timely manner.
- Providing IT support to staff and customers, as well as responding to server and network issues.
- Upgrading internal system components, including CPUs, memory, hard drives, and network cables.
- Documenting processes and keeping event logs.
- Efficiently trace, pull, terminate, test and/or label field cabling.
- Utilize provided AV/IT System Drawings, to install and connect, tidy and serviceable devices behind displays, in furniture, and in AV/IT system racks.
- Read, understand, and provide field feedback for AV/IT system drawings and Architectural plan sets such as rack elevations, cold aisle containment, overhead conveyance systems, electrical distribution plans and data center floor plans.
- Assist with troubleshooting by verifying and testing cabling, checking power/signal flow and may also be required to perform urgent repairs outside of business hours.
- You will be asked to handle other duties related to the success of a project as needed (providing situation reports, maintaining site inventory, or assisting with deliveries and cleanup).
- Strong applicants should be demonstrably dependable, self-motivated, and good team players as well as have a basic understanding of construction drawings, pull charts, AV/IT System Schematics, and in-depth knowledge of data center environments, servers, and network equipment.
- Attend administrative meetings such as: safety meetings and training as needed.
- Be able to maintain composure and professionalism while working at various client locations in a wide variety of working environments from rough construction to client occupied spaces, and client events.
- The right candidate will take on directed tasks quickly and efficiently, ask appropriate clarifying questions, possess effective communication ability, and seek mentorship to develop new skills on the jobsite.
Minimum Skills & Requirements:
- High school diploma, or GED
- Reliable transportation
- Ability to adapt to a changing environment and handle multiple priorities
- Experience with powered and hand tools
- Self-starter and self-motivated, demonstrably strong critical thinking and troubleshooting skills
- Demonstrate time management skills with attention to detail
- Effective verbal and written communication with clients, colleagues, and employees
- Driven to enable a team atmosphere within the groups who support the project both internally and externally while focused on customer satisfaction
- Ability to pass background check
- Ability to lift 50 pounds safely
Preferred Skills & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Strong written and analytical skills
- Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office Suite and GSuite, quick learner of new cloud-based tools, proprietary company web portal and proprietary manufacturer device configuration programs)
- 1-2 years of experience in AV/IT/DC or related fields (low voltage, construction etc.)
- IAVIXA/InfoComm CTS certification
- CompTIA A+ or other cable testing certification
- Any current IT related manufacturer certifications
- AV/IT field experience – especially related to installation or troubleshooting AV/IT systems
- OSHA 10/OSHA 30 certified
