Data Engineer

We’re currently seeking a Data Engineer to join our Headquarters team!
In this role you are responsible for analyzing our current data architecture, assessing opportunities for improvement, and implementing changes in our data pipelines and business intelligence systems that improve the access to and quality of data from our enterprise systems. You will also deliver this data to our data lake for consumption by services that provide real-time and near-real-time access to the organizations authoritative data with the appropriate transformations, controls, and quality checks. You must exhibit both business and technical acumen in how you solve these problems for meeting the needs of the data consumers. This role is important because you will be enabling the organization to make data-driven decisions that help chart the course of the business and enable us to make well-informed and timely decisions for how we grow and expand to serve customers better.

What you will do:
- Analyze enterprise data sources and determine the best methods for ingesting, transforming, and storing that data so that we can make insightful decisions with our business information
- Generate standard or custom reports summarizing business, financial, or economic data for review by executives, managers, clients, and other stakeholders
- Synthesize current business intelligence or trend data to support recommendations for action and manage the timely flow of business intelligence information to users
- Maintain a library of model documents, templates, or other reusable knowledge assets
- Create business intelligence tools or systems, including design of related databases, spreadsheets, or outputs
- Collect business intelligence data from available industry reports, public information, field reports, or purchased sources
- Analyze competitive market strategies through analysis of related product, market, or share trends
- Create or review technical design documentation to ensure the accurate development of reporting solutions
How you will shine:
- BA/BS in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics or related field or equivalent experience
- 3+ years of relevant work experience in a role requiring application of analytic skills to integrate data into operational/business planning
- Experience with MS SQL, Stored Procedures, ETLs, data warehousing, Domo, Snowflake, Tableau, and other common analytical tools as well as AWS technologies (Redshift, S3, Lake Formation, etc.)
- Experience drawing insights from data and clearly communicating them to both business and technical teams
- Project management skills to coordinate projects across cross-functional teams, including business intelligence, engineering, marketing, product management, and finance.
- Excellent written and verbal skills to effectively communicate to both business and technical teams, including defining business requirements and conveying key insights from complex analysis
