QA Lead

Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Quality Assurance Lead to join our team. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for ensuring that our products meet the highest quality standards and comply with industry regulations. You will lead a team of QA professionals, develop testing strategies, and implement best practices to enhance product quality and reliability.

Duties

• Perform QA tests on production lines
• Train necessary personnel how to perform QA tests (all preventative controls and CCPS) on the production lines
• Supervise and verify these tests are performed correctly
• Ensure plant-wide compliance with quality and safety regulations
• Ensure all production employees are following Good Manufacturing Practices through documented daily internal audit checklist
• Daily floor walks to spot check production, inspect facility cleanliness and organization
• Oversee QA technicians and their schedules to optimize efficiency and reduce overtime
• Make appointments for lab pickups and ensure product samples are labeled and sent when necessary
• Oversee the weekly EMP swabbing following the schedule and actions completed on any presumptive positive swabs
• Train personnel to check and complete all calibrations of QA/laboratory equipment following the assigned schedule
• Verify that these checks and calibrations are completed properly
• Manage any product on hold waiting for further disposition
• Complete record review on all QA paperwork
• Resolve quality issues and escalate issues to QA Manager when needed
• Supervise the organic and allergen program storage and labeling
• Providing daily and weekly updates to the QA Manager regarding GMP and BRC compliance
• Maintain inventory and supervise delivery of PPE and necessary quality supplies
• Including allergen swabs, ATP swabs, PAA test strips, tasting cups, etc.
• Assist QA Manager in other tasks as assigned

Experience

• Proven experience in a Quality Assurance role, preferably in a managerial capacity.
• Strong knowledge of programming languages such as Java and PL/SQL.
• Familiarity with database management systems like DB2.
• Experience in computer networking concepts and their application in QA processes.
• Proficient in using testing frameworks such as JUnit for automated testing.
• Ability to analyze complex systems and vaticinate potential issues before they arise.
• Excellent problem-solving skills with a knack for smashing through barriers to ensure product quality.
