Design Program Manager

The Role

We’re looking for an experienced Design Program Manager to join the Hopin Product Design team. 

This is an opportunity to lead Design Program Management for Hopin Events, as a founding member of the Design Operations team. In this role, you’ll partner closely with Design Leadership to build and maintain the operational framework for a cross-functional team of product designers, researchers, and content strategists to thrive in.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with Product Design Leadership for Events, to balance competing priorities and maximize team resources to quickly execute on top priorities. Play a leading role in monthly and quarterly reporting and planning
  • Act as a bridge between the Design team and the Engineering and Product Management teams
  • Lead and build out programs for Product Design in the Events space
  • Develop and implement processes and resources to support how we design user experiences
  • Drive continuous improvements to our operational model, processes and tools
  • Work with a diverse group of designers representing different disciplines, skills, backgrounds, and specialties
  • Partner with Product Design Leadership to onboard new team members
  • Help define and communicate how Design works and how to work with each of the Design disciplines that make up our team
  • Source and evaluate design vendors when needed. Interface with legal, security, and procurement teams to onboard and pay vendors, including facilitating statements of work and negotiating business terms and budget

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience working with in-house Product Design / UX teams
  • Experience creating lean and scalable workflows and implementing process improvements
  • Passion for user experience and design
  • An understanding of design quality and product strategy
  • An understanding of the design and product development process
  • Proficiency with project management and asset management tools (e.g., JIRA, Asana, Coda, Basecamp, Lucidchart, Box, Google Drive, etc)
  • Strong verbal, presentation, and written communication skills
  • Strong conflict resolution and negotiation skills
  • Ability to navigate ambiguity and drive conversations forward
  • Superior organizational, time management, and prioritization skills
  • Ability to be self-directed and take initiative in tackling problems big and small
  • Demonstrable success as a team player, leading large and complex projects
