Developer, Product & Experience

McClatchy is seeking an experienced developer to join its Product & Experiences team. The team serves McClatchy’s 30 markets by creating and enhancing the experiences of our digital products and advancing McClatchy’s mission of high-quality, local journalism.

The ideal candidate will work as part of a fast-moving team focusing on our core websites. Tasks will include building working prototypes of new concepts and maintaining the presentation and performance of our websites by working with multiple development teams, product managers and stakeholders. The successful candidate will also implement new features, iterate on existing concepts, and refactor code to fit changing business needs.

A motivated, collegial work style is a must, as is the desire to learn continuously. A strong track record working with news is optional.

The anticipated base pay range for this position is between 105k and 130k annually. Individual base pay may vary within that range depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, relevant education, department equity, training, geography and local wage and hours laws.

Qualifications

- BA, BS, or BFA in computer science, design, statistics, journalism or a related field
- 3+ years of professional experience
