Developer Programs & Community Manager (Remote, EMEA)

Community and open-source software are at the heart of everything we do at Grafana Labs. As a Developer Community Programs Manager, you will help build our function for engaging with the open-source and developer communities. In this role, you will design and implement programs that empower community members to be successful with Grafana Labs projects. You’ll also help facilitate connections between community members and guide internal teams on how to best engage with the community. The attributes needed for this role include communicator, empathetic, resilient, problem-solver, organizer, and collaborator.

Responsibilities:

Develop regional community strategies to grow the Grafana community
Support organizing events such as meetups and conferences and the willingness to travel up to 30% of the time.
Initiate and scale engagement programs and processes to serve the growing Grafana community better.
Connect with the Grafana community through online and in-person channels
Build relationships with internal teams to enable them to contribute to the community through different activities

Requirements:

3+ years of experience building developer communities across a global, regional, and local setting.
3+ years of experience organizing events such as meetups and conferences
Meaningful and compassionate relationship-building skills, especially with community members and affinity groups
Creative and thoughtful approaches to program management and process improvements
Ability to effectively evaluate and prioritize a wide range of incoming requests and opportunities
Analytical and research skills to understand and share the needs and health of the community.
Comfort working autonomously and being proactive in a distributed environment
Willingness to help solve problems and provide feedback from the community to the company
Demonstrated ability to craft compelling and relevant content to inform, engage, and empower community members.

Let us know about your experience with the following:

Familiarity or experience in the open-source community
Understanding or experience in the observability community
Familiarity or experience with Grafana Labs technology
Proficiency in additional language(s)

In the first few months, you’ll have a good understanding of the Grafana OSS projects and the communities that surround them. You’ll understand how we connect with Grafana community members through different channels like meetups, developer conferences, online forums, community calls, etc. A few months later, you will have built relationships and collaborated with other affinity communities to grow the Big Tent of open-source users. You’ll be leading projects independently and continuously improving how we engage with the developer community.
