This newly built role affords an exciting opportunity to ensure that Diageo is well connected to a network of organizations advancing social impact, inclusion, empowerment, responsibility, and sustainability in support of business objectives.The Director will report to and work with the Vice President of Society to craft and implement a comprehensive, multi-year partner strategy that advances Diageo's business and public policy goals, supports license to operate and reputation in North America. They will lead an internal cross-functional team to ensure that this partner strategy is coordinated across the entire business, seek opportunities to connect the work to employee resource groups and other business campaigns and make sure that internal leaders are well informed about partner needs and challenges. The successful candidate will demonstrate experience in corporate community and constituent affairs, strong internal and external relationship building skills, excellent communication and presentation skills and knowledge of the network of partners that are critical to Diageo.Crucial Duties And Responsibilities Include• Build, manage and report out on a multi-year partner partnerships strategy• Understand and be well-informed on challenges, perspectives and needs of core partner groups and help educate internal audiences• Identify and prioritize internal and external opportunities to communicate about partner partnerships• Build the governance and organization of a cross-functional team to implement the partner strategy across the business.• Work with employee resource groups and be entrepreneurial and tapped into various brand campaigns to improve impact and connectivity• Help support and lead development of materials in support of Diageo's Society and Corporate Relations agenda, such as PowerPoint decks, talking points, and other materials• Advance Diageo's reputation through external engagements, speaking and thought leadershipRequired Education, Skills And Abilities• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience, preferably in public policy, communications or business.• 10 + yrs in community and/or constituent affairs, partner management, corporate affairs and/or social impact.• Experience in leading cross-functional teams across a matrixed organization• A proven track record of successfully developing public-private partnerships and funding agreements, setting critical metrics and results, and advancing programmatic objectives through partner partnerships• Experience in corporate social impact and responsibility and reporting requirements• Strong network of external organizations across the inclusion, opportunity, diversity, multicultural, sustainability, responsibility and social impact sectors.• Standout colleague who is a self-starter and collaborative, adaptable and passionate about their work and innovative in solving problems, overcoming challenges, and measuring and achieving goals.• Ability to work independently and demonstrate good judgment, with outstanding attention to detail and timing.• Understanding of corporate communications and government relations functions a plus• Understanding of consumer packaged goods (CPG) industry a plusDiversity statement:Celebrating our inclusive and diverse culture is core to Diageo's purpose of "celebrating life every day everywhere".
