Since 1998, our solutions and services have helped our clients improve performance, drive cost and operational effectives, and map technology needs for tomorrow's requirements.Title: Sr. Proofreader Technical Writer IIIAssignment Location(s): Newport, RI (onsite)Positions open: 1Estimated Contract Duration: Multi-year contractRequired clearance: No clearance required but to receive a CAC card with the Department of Navy you will need to show documentation of ship.Salary: Please provide your salary requirementResponsibilities:• Perform high-level proofreading and editing of complex academic, professional, and technical publications.• Collaborate with government clients and stakeholders to ensure that all materials are aligned with the Chicago Manual of Style and NWC Press guidelines.• Oversee the production, quality control, and version management of manuscripts, books, journals, and other technical documents.• Mentor and provide directions to junior proofreaders and writers, ensuring editorial consistency.• Evaluate arguments, review and proofread for accuracy in style, grammar, spelling, and logical coherence.• Ensure deadlines are met for critical publications by managing the workflow and scheduling team efforts.Qualifications:• At least five years of experience in an academic or professional publication environment.• Bachelor's degree in English, Communications, or a related field.• Mastery of Chicago Manual of Style and familiarity with government documentation standards.• Proven ability to handle high-level editorial reviews and revisions.• Strong supervisory and team leadership skills.• Must be able to obtain a CAC card with the Department of NavyEqual Employment Opportunity Statement.
