A member of the Pac-12 Conference and Mountain Pacific Sports Federation, USC is proud to support 10 men's (baseball, basketball, football, golf, swimming, diving, tennis, track & field, volleyball, water polo) and 13 women's (basketball, beach volleyball, cross country, golf, lacrosse, rowing, soccer, swimming, diving, tennis, track & field, volleyball, water polo) teams across 12 athletics venues.Job Description:USC Athletics is looking to hire a Visual/Graphic Designer to join our staff and student community of 600+ individuals. This role is responsible for designing graphic materials for USC Athletics social media, digital media, marketing, game presentation and development channels. Additional requirements include maintaining and updating USC’s brand guidelines.Reporting directly to the Art Director, the Visual/Graphic Designer will work in collaboration with USC Athletics’ social media, branding and communications, marketing, video and photography teams, in addition to the coaches and staffs of USC’s 23 intercollegiate sports teams. The ideal candidate will be creative, with strong attention to detail as well as time management skills. The ideal candidate will also be a clear and timely communicator. Knowledge of and experience working in higher education preferred. Understanding of the unique culture and needs of college athletes preferred.This position serves a diverse student and staff population, must demonstrate a commitment to improving outcomes for historically under-served populations, and is expected to contribute to the program’s diversity, inclusion, and equity efforts. USC Athletics is committed to increasing diversity in its staff and welcomes applications from persons of all backgrounds, ethnicities, races, genders, and sexual orientations.This is a non-exempt (hourly) position, and some overtime in evenings and on weekends is expected.Roles and responsibilities to include:• Create graphics for the flagship USC Athletics social media platforms as well as the individual USC team accounts.• Create graphics for USCTrojans.com.• Create marketing materials such as emails, digital ads, banners, apparel and more.• Assist with creating graphics to support department and team recruiting.• Assist with the branding of USC student-athletes, coaches, and teams.• Edit photos when necessary.• Promote an environment that fosters inclusive relationships and creates unbiased opportunities for contributions through ideas, words, and actions that uphold principles of the USC Code of Ethics.• Perform other related duties as assigned or requested. The University reserves the right to add or change duties at any time.Qualifications:• The ideal candidate will possess a bachelor’s degree, preferably in graphic design, art, or a related field, and a minimum of two years of experience.• Broad sports knowledge, especially USC Athletics knowledge, is a plus.• Proficient with Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Lightroom, AfterEffects, etc.).• Experience working in higher education and/or a sports related field ideal.In addition, the successful candidate must also demonstrate, through ideas, words and actions, a strong commitment to USC’s Unifying Values of integrity, excellence, diversity, equity and inclusion, well-being, open communication and accountability.Hourly Range:The hourly rate range for this position is $28.10 - $35.26.
