Direct Support Professional - job 1 of 7

The Direct Support Professional/ Worker is imperative to our agency and well-being of our clients. The DSP/DSW will be directed by a plan of care developed by the Oregon Department of Human Services. The direct support worker follows the individual service plan for each individual. We are looking for both full and part time DSP's to join our team!

Direct Support Professional Responsibilities/ Job Requirements:

  • Position expectations are defined as the following and may include, but are not limited to, in-home supports and skills:
    • Cooking, cleaning, medication assistance, scheduling, attend medical appointments, shopping, transportation and more...
    • Skill development and support as defined in the individual’s Individual service plan
    • Documentation of progress notes with each shift

We are also offering a bonus for any workers that bring on a client with them.

Client 1:

  • 15 year old girl
  • Needing help 4-8 pm, occasional 6-8 am, Monday-Friday, some weekends but flexible
  • Looking for someone reliable, warm, kind and sincere
  • Needs help with her ADL's and occassionally has seizures
  • Wants someone to talk to her and not about or around her

Client 2:

  • 11 year old boy
  • Needing help from 3:30-7 pm Monday-Saturday and occasional Sunday 9am-7pm.
  • Looking for someone to help him after school read and write

Client 3:

  • A 17 year old girl
  • Needing help Monday, Tuesday Thursday from 2pm-6pm and Saturday from 10am-2pm. Days and times are flexible
  • Looking for someone to help her after school, work on independent life skills, organization, money, cooking and decision making inside and outside the home.

Client 4:

  • A 3 year old boy
  • Needing help from 10-6 pm Monday-Friday
  • Family is looking for someone that is vaccinated (COVID), can lift 30-50 lbs, has experience working with special needs and is calm, attentive and detail oriented.

Qualifications and Education Requirements for DSP/DSW:

  • Personal Support: 1 year (required)
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Be at least 18 years of age
  • Transporting individuals: Have a valid driver's license and vehicle insurance in compliance with the laws of the Department of Motor Vehicles. (Proof and copies)
  • Certified in CPR and First Aid by a recognized training agency (within 90 calendar days of employment)
  • Overall competency in working under pressure
  • Knowledge of home care services
  • Proficient in written and oral communication
  • Understand requirements of maintaining confidentiality and safeguarding individual information
  • Ability to effectively communicate with a variety of individuals
  • Be able to respond to emergency situations at all times services are being delivered
  • **Must also have a smartphone
