Director, Accounting

Reporting to the VP, Corporate Controller, the Director of Accounting will be integral in overseeing the activities of the corporate and global accounting department for the accurate and timely preparation and dissemination of financial management reports, including, but not limited to (i) internal monthly financial statements and management reporting to our SEC Parent Company; (ii) technical accounting research; (iii) implementation and management of internal controls; as well as (iv) assisting with special projects.
The Director of Accounting will ensure appropriate metrics are in place to manage business risks and improve decision making; ensure a strong accounting and operational control environment to safeguard Jazwares and improve operations. Also, the Director of Accounting will ensure oversight of accounting and reporting governance.
What you'll be doing:

• Provide leadership in our global and corporate accounting and compliance function to ensure operating in a strategic, compliant, and sophisticated manner
• Manage our Treasury and General Ledger Accounting teams which includes responsibility for the month-end close process to ensure accurate and timely reporting of financial data
• Maintain our Chart of Accounts and key data attributes within our ERP
• Review and approve key month-end close activities and account reconciliations
• Streamline close activities to reduce inefficiencies and provide timely financial data to senior leadership.
• Lead external and internal audits
• Participate in M&A, including due diligence, Quality of Earnings Reviews and related Valuation engagements.
• Ad-hoc special projects either from Senior Leadership, Partners and/ or the Board of Directors
• Perform other duties as assigned

Education/ Years of Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting required.
• Master’s degree preferred.
• 5+ years of both public accounting and private experience in a management function
• 3+ years of leadership experience
• CPA required

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in mergers and acquisitions experience is a plus; both for due diligence and integration
• Experience in a consumer goods industry
• Experience in a global organization
• Multilingual a plus
