Overview:
THE ROLE:
The Director of Architecture & SRE is responsible for the coordination of global operations for their department function across teams and for the management of multi-functional processes. This role will bring together the technology, people, and processes vital to define solution roadmaps, develop solution designs, scope technical initiatives and epics, evaluate new technologies, and develop architecture frameworks and sophisticated product features in support of program priorities.
DETAILED RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES:

Develop solution design and architecture for new enhancements, systems, and technologies. Scope technical epics for an assigned initiative.

Engage, influence, and promote SRE practices with development, operational and product groups to align technology service/solution delivery.

Provide guidance and support to assigned development teams in scoping, design and implementation of functional epics/features ensuring that overall solution vision is on track, right technical trade-offs are made, and issues are identified and resolved timely

Lead availability, latency, scalability, and efficiency of Bloomberg applications development by instilling engineering reliability into our development life cycle with a focus on fault tolerant approaches.

Drive capacity planning, performance analysis, instrumentation and other non-functional systems requirements.

Qualifications:
Required

Excellent interpersonal skills for both executive and technical audiences

Proven track record in delivering world class architecture capabilities in a complex, international organization of relevant scale and complexity

Expert knowledge in all aspects of designing, developing, leading large real-time systems.

Prior successful experience with systems performance and SRE.

Mastery of fault tolerant approaches in a large-scale distributed environment and high-performance systems

Comfortable driving successful delivery through a large, geographically disparate team comprised of internal employees
Senior Level

Overall 10+ years of IT experience with 7 or more years of experience as a Software Architect, Solution Architect and 5+ years leading large, global teams.
Education:

Bachelor’s in computer science or equivalent
