Your contribution:

Paramit, a Tecan Group Company, is looking for a Business Development Director to join it’s growing team. This position will be responsible for identifying, generating, and closing new business opportunities and selling services in the Medical Devices and Life Sciences product sector.


  • Source and qualify opportunities with startups and established Medical Device firms clients that need the unique manufacturing services provided by Paramit.
  • Actively work existing relationships, networking contacts, professional affiliations, and industry groups.
  • Present services solutions and value proposition to customers during the sales cycle.
  • Work with technical team leads to scope and estimate services projects.
  • Create and present services proposals to customers and prospects.
  • Expand, nurture, and develop opportunities with existing client relationships.
  • Identify and qualify all opportunities during the sales process.
  • Create and execute the sales plan and process, including coordination of all necessary internal and external resources to best position Paramit to secure business.
  • Work closely with marketing resources to develop effective, targeted go-to-market plans for the industry teams they support.
  • Responsible for regular conference calls and meetings with prospective clients, sales team, and technical leads.
  • Build relationships within industry contacts to build sales funnel and secure a smooth process for project proposals.
  • Participate in sales, marketing and product strategy meetings on a regular basis to ensure we remain on target to achieve predetermined goals.
  • Direct involvement in marketing activities, including but not limited to national trade shows, local shows, collaborations with partner companies, etc.
  • Work within guidelines of company travel and expense policies.

Your background

  • BS degree equivalent experience.
  • 5-8 years previous experience, including services-based Sales, Sales Management and/or Product Management.
  • Broad industry knowledge with medical device and instrumentation is required.
  • Familiarity with the latest developments in management techniques.
  • Experience in establishing budgets, planning, forecasting sales is desired but not required
  • A consulting business development executive who possesses a consistent and demonstrable track record of achieving annual revenue targets
  • Demonstrable background in developing and closing significant new name clients in his/her/their career, with expertise in the consulting sector
  • An extensive professional network focused on the Medical Devices/life Sciences product sector
  • Demonstrated ability to identify and penetrate new accounts in addition to expanding current client accounts
  • Knowledge of the business development cycle, including the development, management, and execution of sales and BD planning, lead generation, pipeline management, account planning, and sales strategy
  • Ability to prioritize multiple projects and work independently
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to effectively communicate (orally and written) both technical and non-technical topics
  • Strong presentation skills demonstrated before customer, peers, and upper management
  • Ability to recognize and manage potential problem areas and resolve them with integrity
  • Ability to understand the needs of clients and co-workers
  • Ability to travel (often on short notice)
  • Must be self-motivated
  • Possesses an adaptive behaviour when necessary - a willingness to learn something new; to do something a new way
  • High level of commitment and initiative
