Director, Consumer and Product Research - Remote

We have created a whole new market category in financial services that sits at the intersection of a credit market place and credit builder digital banking services. Our Director, Consumer and Product Research will be a key leader within Credit Sesame, representing the voice of the consumer and driving strategy through rich insights. The role directly impacts our product development roadmap, the strategic business roadmap, and marketing strategies. This role will build out a high performance, responsive team of mix-method researchers that are able to lead company-wide strategic and tactical research and identify both long and mid-term strategies.

You'll...

  • develop, shape and implement research strategy and vision within Credit Sesame. Develop research best practices and processes to guide the Team and business leadership in identifying and prioritizing opportunities;
  • lead the execution of consumer and product research across multiple areas including, but not limited to, brand communication, customer segmentation, product innovation, and customer experience. Package insights into tools and assets for designers, product managers, content strategists, and marketing partners to leverage;
  • uncover Customer insights that inform the user experience and support the design of solutions that delight the customer and meet the needs of the business. Design and execute research studies, customer journey mapping, usability assessments, identify pain points, and develop workflows & personas built from data to improve planning & prioritization;
  • lead consumer understanding to identify unmet consumer needs, market whitespace, and growth opportunities. Deliver strategic insights and recommendation for new products, new consumers, and/or new marketing positioning and communication;
  • lead Brand Health and Brand Perception understanding including awareness funnel, brand equity, NPS and media results. Continuously evaluate the best ways for shaping brand understanding;
  • maintain a deep understanding of competitive offerings and how they impact consumer choices and preferences, and how they should influence product opportunities/features;
  • drive requirements and prioritization across product, marketing, and business unit leaders.

You're a great fit for our team because...

  • you have expertise in multiple stakeholder management and track record of delivering proven and tangible outcomes in researching, implementing, and delighting customers;
  • you're an expert in qualitative research including focus groups, IDIs and UX/UI testing;
  • you're an expert in quantitative methodologies, such as max/diff, conjoint, derived importance and Kano analyses;
  • you have experience in behavior economics in the finance industry preferred;
  • you have knowledge of SPSS including stat testing, merging datasets, weighting;
  • you have experience with survey-based platforms, such as Qualtrics;
  • you're skilled in preparing effective and meaningful presentations with clear narratives and impactful insights to drive business decisions;
  • you have education in Market Research, Social Science. Deep analytical skills a must.

Office Location

We are open to hiring remotely for this role. You could also work out of our Toronto, San Francisco or our Mountain View office—you decide!
