General Summary
The Director of Enrollment Marketing at Eastern Michigan University reports directly to the Vice President of Enrollment and is responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive marketing strategy to enhance brand awareness, accessibility, visibility, and reputation of the university. The successful candidate will create and implement effective marketing campaigns through various channels, including print and digital media. This role involves collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to promote admission and financial aid goals that prioritize access, affordability, and outreach to diverse student populations.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
Design and implement a strategic marketing plan to achieve enrollment goals and increase brand recognition.
Identify target audiences and develop tailored marketing campaigns to attract prospective students, including freshmen, transfer students, international students, graduate students, online, and non-traditional students.
Collaborate with key university stakeholders to align marketing efforts with admission goals.
Oversee the creation and distribution of print and digital marketing materials, ensuring they are engaging, informative, and consistent with the university's branding guidelines.
Manage the production process of marketing collateral, including coordinating with third-party vendors for graphic design, video production, and printing needs.
Utilize digital platforms and tools to develop and execute email campaigns, leveraging segmentation and personalization techniques to maximize impact.
Develop and manage the annual marketing budget, including regular reporting, expense management, and ensuring efficient allocation of resources across various initiatives.
Set performance goals and expectations of team members, conduct regular performance evaluations, and provide constructive feedback to enhance performance.
Coordinate and delegate responsibilities to ensure efficient workflow within the enrollment management division.
Promote a culture of continuous improvement and innovation within enrollment management.
Represent the University at professional meetings and conferences.
Perform other related Departmental duties as required.
Minimum Qualifications:
A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Communication, Public Relations, Marketing, Advertising or related field is required ; a Master's degree is preferred.
Five years of progressive experience in enrollment management is required.
Strong understanding of admissions processes, enrollment trends, and best practices in higher education is required.
Preferred Qualifications:
Proven experience in a leadership role within admissions, enrollment management, or a related field is preferred.
Proficiency in utilizing data analysis and CRM systems (preferably Salesforce/TargetX) to inform decision making and drive marketing strategies is preferred.
Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively engage with diverse audiences is preferred.
Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate a team, fostering collaboration, appreciation, and a positive work culture is preferred.
Knowledge of legal and ethical standards in higher education admissions and financial aid is preferred.
Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Flexibility to adapt to changing needs and priorities within the enrollment landscape.
