Director, Inventory Control, QA and Inbound

About the Role:

IPSY is looking for an experienced Director of Inventory Control, QA and In-bound. The Director of Inventory Control, QA and Inbound will act as a key member of the Operations Team, responsible for managing all inbound, quality, inventory control, and network merchandising across the fulfillment network. In this role, you will partner closely with Merchandising, Supply Chain Finance, Sourcing, Customer Care and the Fulfillment Center teams to create the strategy, analyze status, drive, and monitor corresponding actions needed to meet campaign SLA’s while ensuring inventory accuracy across the network. In this role you will work cross functionally to align metrics and reporting needs; as well as create and continuously improve processes. Develop inventory availability strategies to support an optimized production plan and campaign order fulfillment service level agreements.

Gaining cross-functional buy-in and driving change will be key to this role.

Our ideal candidate will simultaneously be a big picture, strategic thinker but also able to execute on implementing new ideas as well as continuously improve existing operations. This position reports to the VP, Fulfillment. The position is based on-site in Belton, MO.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Provide leadership and strategic management to drive continuous improvement in all inbound activity, inventory balancing across all sites, short order management, stocking levels, inventory turns, and inventory accuracy.
  • Lead all quality functions.
  • Lead the tracking and analysis of inbound costs, while developing strategies that ensure on-time delivery within budget.
  • Develop reporting for all necessary metrics and key performance indicators as required.
  • Accountable for all ATS (available to sell) communication and inventory availability.
  • Work with inbound carriers to understand lead times, future constraints, or changes that may impact campaign readiness.
  • Provide guidance to the team and ensure they have the necessary knowledge to effectively manage the inventory within their area of responsibility.
  • Responsible for strategic implementation and inventory management of all locations.
  • Continually evaluate practices and processes while developing and implementing improvements.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Understand key metrics that drive member experience and consistently measure and improve performance against those metrics
  • Synthesize large amounts of data to draw conclusions and to make recommendations in order to improve operational efficiency, scalability, and lower costs
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Product, Analytics, Marketing, Customer Care and other teams to develop, test, and execute ideas designed for both internal processes and the member experience

What We are Looking For:

  • 10+ years of experience in a senior leadership role responsible for inventory management, with proven advancement and increasing levels of responsibility
  • Experience leading inventory and inbound functions within a fulfillment, supply chain, or distribution organization. Six sigma or experience with other process improvement methodologies preferred
  • Curious and comfortable with data and large-scale analytics
  • Advanced understanding of Excel is required. Business, financial planning, or other heavy modeling experience is preferred.
  • Proven ability to drive and manage multiple, competing priorities and projects with urgency in a fast-paced environment where continuous innovation is desired
  • Strong attention to detail and orientation to relentless execution
  • Passion for creating a delightful customer experience
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher (preferably in an supply chain, industrial engineering, business or science-related field)
