In addition to cultivating our female leadership, we’re focused on increasing the employment and retention of employees from our focus communities by refining our hiring and career development practices.
In our 2021 employee survey, 82% of our staff gave us a favorable rating on inclusion and diversity.
Beauty Amplified
We’re proud to amplify and support underrepresented focus communities, with investments totaling $75M+ in Black- and Latinx-led brands since 2021. For these brands, we provide access to product development, facilitate introductions to supply chain resources, and offer twice the average brand exposure—helping to increase customer awareness and engagement and further elevate them within the beauty industry.
Leadership Development
Inclusion matters. So we’re investing in our employees of color and launching a new Leadership Development program in partnership with Kahilla, a women-owned organization that aims for equity in the corporate world by democratizing access to leadership development.
We’ve selected five male-identifying employees and plan to select 35 female-identifying employees for two separate cohort experiences consisting of workshops, coaching, and more to cultivate their professional growth.

Learning Opportunities
Every month, we offer two “Make It Real” sessions for our employees: opportunities to learn from subject matter experts, thought leaders, and colleagues on topics that tie back to our inclusion focus areas for the month (e.g., Black History Month and Women’s History Month).
These sessions—which are open to all employees, regardless of title or seniority—are a valuable tool in deepening our team’s knowledge and expanding our collective understanding of those around us.
Giving Back
We're proud to support a number of women-focused nonprofits with product donations, with total contributions valued at $300,000 in 2022 alone. But we heard from our employees that they wanted to make an even bigger impact—so we introduced a company-paid volunteer day off to provide more opportunities to give back to the community.
Sustainability
IPSY is the biggest beauty membership in the world. With that immense privilege comes a great responsibility to think about the health of both the people who invite us into their homes, and the planet we inhabit.
We prioritize sustainability in the way we make, package, and ship our products, and the resources we use to power our business. We also launched a holistic program called Clean at IPSY to make it easier for our community to find safe and effective products that align with their values.
The Out List
The Out List is a standard we’ve created as an assurance to our members that the products they receive from us will not be formulated with potentially harmful ingredients.
The 32 ingredients on The Out List will be banned across our entire portfolio by the end of 2023. But this isn’t one and done—since The Out List represents our ongoing commitment to providing better-for-you beauty options, as new science emerges, we’ll be updating and adding more ingredients to the list.
Clean at IPSY
Transparency equals trust—so Clean at IPSY takes The Out List to the next level, educating our community on an additional 1,800 ingredients to be mindful of.
Created through a screening and vetting process developed by North America’s leading toxicology group, The Agyekum Group Consulting (TAGC), the Clean at IPSY standard highlights products that meet our rigorous guidelines—empowering our members with the knowledge to make mindful choices that help both people and the planet.
