About the position:

You will work in the dynamic and challenging environment of ING Americas Wholesale Tech. The Wholesale market is rapidly going through a process of digitization, adopting new Wholesale markets specific technologies, and developing new functionality to facilitate the regulatory requirements and enhance the Front Office user experience.

About the department:

ING Americas Tech is the support backbone and catalyst for new and innovative solutions that drive growth for both internal and external customers. We strive to bring technical expertise and business knowledge together to support a wide range of business products within media and telecoms (TMT), utilities power and renewables, natural resources, food and agribusiness, real estate and infrastructure, with financial product specialists in industry lending, corporate finance, debt capital, commodity and export financing, sustainable finance and much more.

Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to the IT strategy with proper IT Landscape for your area in line with the bank’s IT strategy to realize the purposes of the Business
  • Act as an ambassador for Agile way of working and serve as a role model in terms of the new way of working: from 'an organization talking' to 'an organization doing'
  • Prove people-oriented management and focus on growth of the Chapter leads and technical engineers
  • Encourage and coach Chapter Leads to continuously develop their capabilities and competencies to remain up-to-market in their field at all times
  • Responsible for the “how” ~ Technology, oversees overall IT maturity in chapters and drives continuous craftsmanship development in your area
  • Identify and adopt applicable changes in the market with regards to innovation, time to market, procedures, processes, and methods used in your area
  • Ensure a safe and compliant bank from an IT perspective
  • Ensure stability and reliability of the IT Landscape (including the IT architecture of your IT assets)

Qualifications and Competencies:

  • Bachelor and/or Master diploma in Computer Science, or equivalent experience in related field
  • Experience in the financial services industry is a must
  • Proven track record in successfully managing software projects & teams throughout the complete project lifecycle in an Agile organization
  • Ability to navigate an environment with virtual teams and interface with international stakeholders
  • Passionate about innovation and new market trends
  • Strong drive when it comes to growing and developing technical people and managers
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to display style flexibility to teams and adapt plan, approach and behavior to the different needs and situations
  • Strong organizational sensitivity and the ability to understand and consider the underlying issues, opportunities, and dynamics of the cross-border organization
  • Continuous improvement mind-set

Salary range: $180,000 – $230,000
