The primary purpose for the Director of Academic Excellence is to remain the primary liaison between students and the administration on academic progress and performance, bar preparation, student advising, and student relations matters.

A SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE WILL:

• Assist students in understanding policies related to academics, conduct, transfers, absences, withdrawal,

probation, dismissal, reinstatement, and State Bar requirements.

• Develop, implement, and evaluate programs that provide students with academic support, skills

development, bar exam preparedness, and Competency Evaluation preparedness.

• Collaborate with the Office of the Registrar on a wide range of issues including withdrawals, exams, student

concerns around adding/dropping of courses, requests to take leave, students returning from leave, and

other matters as designated by the Dean.

• Apply policies, in coordination with others, related to student conduct, attendance and academic progress,

probation, leave of absence, and other matters. Work with the Dean and law school faculty on analysis of academic achievement and bar examination results and strategies for maximizing academic success and bar passage.

• Meet with students on a one-on-one basis to provide personalized academic counseling and support.

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

• Juris Doctorate (J.D.) Required
• Three years of experience in higher education, reflecting increasing levels of responsibility Required
• Must have demonstrated experience in working with students toward academic success in law school and onpassing the California Bar Exam

California Pay Transparency requires a pay range for all job postings. The pay range for St. Francis School of Law Director of Academic Excellence is $90,000 to $105,000.
