Position Overview: Privacy rights are at the core of Pixalate’s services. To protect these rights, we strive to enable our clients to comply with global privacy and data protection laws and regulations. We are looking for a Director of EU Data Protection to enhance the success of our privacy protection and compliance services. This role will work closely with our legal, engineering, data science, marketing, sales, and customer success teams as a subject matter expert to enhance our privacy-related services, help identify customer needs, and continue to keep our services dynamic in the face of the evolving global privacy and data protection regulatory landscape. The ideal candidate will have knowledge of all facets of privacy and data protection law globally, expertise in European privacy and data protection laws and regulations specifically, and the ability to provide thought leadership in Europe and beyond.

Who We Are Looking For:

This role will require someone who has:

• Expertise in compliance with European privacy and data protection laws, including the EU’s General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the UK GDPR
• Knowledge of the upcoming EU data regulations such as the Data Act (DA), Digital Services Act (DSA), Digital Markets Act (DMA), Artificial Intelligence Act (AI Act), Data Governance Act (DGA), and ePrivacy Regulation, and their overlap with the GDPR.
• Knowledge of data protection law globally
• Experience assisting digital services and/or technology companies on matters related to privacy and data protection
• Experience working for or with European data protection authorities (DPAs) such as the UK ICO, the national courts enforcing privacy rights and data protection, and/or the European Court of Justice
• Experience conducting or complying with regulatory audits
• An understanding of privacy as a concept, product, and industry
• Excellent interpersonal and written/verbal communication skills

Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Law, Economics, Business Administration, or Management
• LLB preferred, but not required
• 3-5 years of professional experience involving expertise in European privacy and data protection law
• Regulatory or judicial experience preferred
• Familiarity with online advertising and its privacy challenges preferred
