Our Audiology Central Operations team are responsible for the creation and delivery of an annual plan to our businesses through coordinated planning, delivery and communication. Working closely with the Optics Central Operations team and the wider Audiology team to create effective operating principles that maximise partner profits and enable the teams to change more lives and create an outstanding patient journey.

Due to an internal move, we are now recruiting a Director of Operations to lead the team. We are happy to consider applicants from across the UK, however you will be required to travel regularly to Guernsey approximately 2-3 days per week.


Your purpose

In this role as the Director of Central Operations for Audiology you will be responsible for devising the strategy, influencing senior stakeholders, and leading Audiology Central Operations, including leading the team responsible for Partner Attraction. As a member of the Audiology board, you will be committed to the long-term success of the Organisation and actively participating in decision making and planning in all areas of the business.


Your role

  • Partnering with the MD for Audiology and other key leaders, you will help shape the strategy and direction for the business, engaging partners and supporting them to maximise profit.
  • You will be responsible for the development and implementation of the Central Operations strategy for the UK & ROI Audiology business
  • You will be responsible for the development of all activity that impacts on stores operationally, including quarterly focus opportunities
  • P&L Ownership of the operations budget, trading initiatives and critical in the setting of growth investments
  • Accountable for the continual improvement in our operating principles, engaging partners and leaders to improve service levels that lead to more effective ways of working
  • Attraction, recruitment, and development of the function that make up the Central Operations team to deliver against the strategic plan
  • Provide our partners with the tools to run their businesses safely and in line with best practice
  • Relentlessly looks for efficiencies in ways of working for our stores
  • Work with strategic external parties as required by the needs of the business
  • Works collaboratively with colleagues and peers across the global audiology business to share best practice and deliver common objectives

What you’ll bring

  • Strong experience as a leader who is comfortable and has experience in successfully leading a remote team in a matrix structure, with strong retail experience.
  • A credible commercial leader with experience in a retail operations environment for a fast-paced multi-site Organisation
  • Driven to improve results and commercially curious to identify opportunities
  • Strong and confident communicator with the ability to influence, engage and challenge leaders and teams across the Organisation
  • The ability to build credibility and trust, at all levels of the Organisation
  • An inspirational leader, with the ability to manage, coach and motivate a team to deliver high performance
  • Can communicate a compelling purpose and leads and motivates people to do their best every day
