We're currently seeking a Director of Product Growth to join us to help build and lead our product-centric growth team in expanding our revenue and user growth. A great candidate for this role is a data-driven, analytical thinker with mobile growth and product management experience and a passion for identifying opportunities to solve customer needs and drive business impact. The person in this role will be responsible for managing Growth product initiatives that drive subscription conversion, retention, and user acquisition.
This role will report to our Head of Growth and sit on our Growth team.
In this position, you will:
Own the Roadmap for growth: You’ll partner with our Head of Growth and Founders to translate our Growth team vision and strategy into a roadmap that will enable us to achieve our purpose at scale. You’ll also perform analysis, interpret insights, calculate business impact, and manage monthly reporting, all with the focus of discovering and designing new avenues for growth. As part of this you’ll partner with the larger Growth team to execute experiments, interpreting the results to develop actionable changes and initiatives that both engage current users and reach new audiences.
Collaborate and lead initiatives: You’ll be responsible for ensuring the success of our embedded Growth team, spanning project management, data, marketing, design, and engineering team members. You’ll be responsible for ensuring these cross-functional teams have the alignment, clarity and tools needed to consistently execute our growth roadmap, on time and with high quality. We are a small team with big ideas, so creativity and results-driven execution is key.
Build and up-level our Growth organization: You’ll build systems and processes to help us effectively, efficiently and consistently achieve our Growth roadmap. As part of this you’ll help us identify and set up the tools needed to be able to collect and analyze data real-time and run experiments. You’ll help us decide when it makes sense to build internal tools versus find an external solution. You’ll also help us build, uplevel, and manage our Growth team, ensuring we have the key roles needed to execute.
Champion our purpose: You will help Marco Polo be a pioneer as one of the first consumer communications digital platforms to build a sustainable business model without selling user data or ads and while creating products that are built to be good for you. You will help bring these industry-forward ideas to market with expert guidance and skillful project management.
Ideally, you have:
8+ years of relevant experience driving Growth or Revenue initiatives, 3+ years of which are in a consumer tech company using the product, and potentially marketing, as the driver of growth.
5+ years of experience leading cross-functional teams.
Strong track record designing and analyzing experiments focused on areas such as in-funnel conversion and audience segmentation, all while keeping opportunities for automation in mind.
Experience working with BI tools (we use Amplitude) coupled with the ability to interpret complex data findings and turn them into actionable business insights.
Broad understanding of engineering cost & benefit tradeoffs for initiatives and tools infrastructure. You understand what’s easy, what’s hard, and what’s worth pushing through even if it’s hard. You also know when to build tools in house versus purchase externally.
Demonstrated experience effectively communicating goals, roadmaps, KPIs and learnings.
A strong track record of seeking alignment and building strong partnerships with Engineering, Design, Data Analytics and Marketing teams.
Startup/E-Commerce/SaaS experience is a plus.
