Ashland has an exciting opportunity for a Head of Product Management to join our Life Sciences business. This position can be home based. This is a very visible, significant role within the Company and the Pharmaceutical function. This position will report to the Senior Vice President and General Manager, Life Sciences.
**Home based role for someone living/open to relocating to the Delaware or New Jersey area**
The responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following:

Manage near term P&L activities
-
Collaborate with operations, supply chain, procurement, and commercial teams to achieve profit and RONA goals
-
Establish pricing targets and ensure timely implementation
-
Work closely with the sales team on key account contracts
-
Provide price and volume input for the monthly forecasts and annual business plan
-
Establishes allocation priorities for over-sold products
-
Advance Asset Strategy
-
Develop and implement asset strategies (foot print optimization, product rationalization, mix optimization) to improve RONA, with a particular emphasis on the acetylenic chain
-
Ensure capital deployment is consistent with the BU strategic plan
-
Creates business cases for capital expansion projects, and serve on project steering teams

Portfolio Optimization
-
Ensure the health of each product line by overseeing new product introductions and rationalizations

Provide product management input for stage-gate programs

People management:
-
Provide leadership, direction and coaching to a team of product management professionals
In order to be qualified for this role, you must possess the following:
-
Bachelor’s Degree in a technical discipline or equivalent experience in a technical field (5 years minimum)

Strong influence management skills
-
Industry background in ingredients is a MUST preference to a regulated industry such as food/nutrition/pharma/agriculture

Demonstrated ability to analyze market trends, usage data and customer feedback to develop and communicate strategic vision for products.

Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
-
Thorough understanding of or the ability to quickly learn about the project or product being developed.

Build strong relationships with both internal and external customers and colleagues
-
Strong verbal communication skills to speak to customers and delivery team members daily as well as good written communication skills
-
Ability to develop and maintain collaborative relationships with peers and colleagues across the organization, as well as, internal and external clients

Ability to work well autonomously and within a team in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment.

Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
