Overview
Leveraging Mastercard’s global payments network, our account-to-account business provides domestic and cross-border solutions to enable the frictionless future of payments. We help our customers leverage rich messaging functionality and applications to capture business and consumer payment flows both domestically and cross-border; offer solutions to connect, enable, and safeguard the Open Banking ecosystem, and protect banks and their customers from financial crime. All this is supported by account-based data insights and consulting to help our clients optimise their payment strategies across the world. The Open Banking team is looking to expand its product offering on a global basis.

The Director, Risk and Compliance, Open Banking will be responsible for driving efficiency and accountability across the Open Banking Risk and Compliance organization, creating strategic alignment, driving governance and risk management initiatives globally. The role will provide expert leadership and direction to identify and implement best practices in compliance and risk. The successful candidate will work cross-functionally with colleagues including, Product, Regulatory Affairs, Legal Counsel, Privacy/Data Usage, Global Ethics and Compliance and Internal Audit. The team also is responsible for agile transformation for risk and process management, program governance.
Role
- Support Risk & Compliance strategy implementation with coordination and collaboration across different markets/ regions
- Trusted partner who works with the VP, Risk and Compliance to set strategic priorities
• Create deep relationships with key product/program leaders to build a collaborative partnership in ensuring alignment of Risk and Compliance strategy across related Open Banking products.• Helps the team in its pursuit of being a more agile, connected, efficient, and effective organization
- Leads development of clear presentations and communications to a variety of audiences
- Develops and maintains internal and external reporting program to ensure compliance with relevant obligations
- Leads strategic projects and risk governance initiatives (i.e., consolidated business risks frameworks, API risk governance program, reseller engagement program)
- Oversees local governance activities and drive consistent practices designed to identify, measure, monitor, report and manage risks
- Oversees key technology platforms and tools
- Leads integration activities and strategic partner initiatives (e.g., Start Path)
- Leads business continuity and records management protocols
- Leads development, implementation, documentation, and maintenance of a compliance risk analytics program with respect to Open Banking and API operations
- Oversees training programs and ensure adherence to global training standards
- Oversees shared services activities
- Actively drives engagement across lines of defense and monitor progress through target state execution of ERM operating model
All About You
- Knowledge of Anti-Money Laundering and Payment Services Regulations.
- Ability to interpret regulations and guidance to assess impact and develop practical operational procedures to ensure ongoing compliance.
- Experience executing compliance programs, including design, implementation and oversight of controls
- Experience of identifying, assessing, measuring, and reporting compliance risks
- Self-starter who takes ownership, prioritizes, manages multiple time-sensitive projects, and can meet competing deadlines with little guidance or oversight; ability to bring together multiple stakeholders to help drive decisions
- Adaptability and enthusiasm to modulate between supporting Risk and Compliance management and leading large cross-functional projects
- Able to navigate ambiguity and vacillate between high-level strategic and ground-level tactical thinking with an eye towards “connecting dots” and identifying/evaluating organizational opportunities and challenges
- Tech savvy with excellent organizational/project management skills, attention to detail, with a relentless focus on setting priorities, managing processes, and delivering results under tight deadlines and with competing priorities
- Able to build strong relationships, highly collaborative, excellent active listening skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Knowledge and experience of Open Banking products would be beneficial.
- Formal Compliance certification, e.g. ACAMs or ICA or industry equivalent would be preferable.
- Preferred locations are Purchase, NY or St Louis, MO

Westchester County Salary Range: $137,000 - $212,000
