About ICERM
The Institute for Computational and Experimental Research in Mathematics (ICERM) is one of six national mathematical sciences institutes predominately funded by the National Science Foundation. Each year we bring together approximately 1,000 researchers from around the globe to collaborate on challenging topics within and around the computational domain. ICERM is a dynamic, active environment supported and managed by 14 full time professional staff and 9 directors. ICERM is one of several math institutes funded by the National Science Foundation (NSF). Launched at Brown University in 2010, the institute’s funding has been renewed by the NSF through 2025. Prior to that date the institute will request renewal for another 5-year grant. This stable cycle of repeat funding in 5-year increments is the typical model for successful NSF-funded math institutes.
About the opportunity
Reporting to the Senior Systems Administrator, the IT Support Coordinator serves as the primary technical liaison for ICERM’s mathematical sciences researchers who attend the Institute’s 25-30 scientific conferences and events annually. The position will provide first- and second-level support and problem resolution for technical issues such as wireless connectivity and printing, and general desktop computing support. This role will manage the hardware resources for ICERM participants and staff including the ICERM equipment loaner program offered to participants. The IT Support Coordinator will also provide Audio-Visual (AV) support for all Institute workshops and events, whether scheduled in-person, hybrid, or virtually.
