About the Role:
Remitly is seeking a senior data science leader to join as Director, Product Analytics based in Seattle. This role will be at the forefront of data-driven insights to guide product development and decision-making. The Director, Product Analytics will play a crucial role in shaping product strategies, while also defining the analytic vision and plan to support the integrated team in achieving its objectives. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in leading analytics initiatives, encompassing data science and analytics. They will collaborate closely with product, design and engineering leaders to foster a data analytics culture of excellence within the team. They will focus on developing hypotheses and employ a diverse toolkit of rigorous analytical approaches, different methodologies, frameworks, and technical approaches to test them. We are looking for someone with a strong technical background that loves the challenge of managing complex projects in a fast-paced environment while leading a team of talented analysts. This role will report directly to the EVP, Global Remittance Business Management.
You Will:

Partner closely with product managers, engineers, designers, and other key stakeholders to define success metrics, monitor product performance and develop a deep understanding of business challenges. Use insights from data to inform and influence product strategy and decisions.

Develop and implement a vision for how data can help drive decision making within the product organization. Identify opportunities to leverage data and analytics to enhance product development and performance.

Motivate, lead, and grow a team of high-performing data scientists and analysts. Foster a culture of intellectual curiosity, innovative thinking and accountability to business outcomes.

Coach and empower the team to bring data driven insights into every decision, not just present data, but tell data-driven stories, convince and influence their partners using clear insights and recommendations, build credibility through structure and clarity, and be a trusted strategic partners

Oversee the design and analysis of experiments; drive the adoption of rigorous A/B testing and experimental design methods and standards; build models and apply statistical methods to answer specific business questions and to drive product development. Ensure that data findings are correctly interpreted and communicated effectively to stakeholders.

Employ expertise in quantitative analysis, data mining, and data visualization to create data-driven strategies for enhancing product performance, user experience and customer lifetime value

Influence senior executives (VPs & Directors) throughout the entire organization.

Collaborate with data engineering to build an effective data infrastructure and implement tools and systems for advanced analytics.
You Have:

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Applied Math, or a related quantitative field. Ph.D. preferred.

10+ years of work experience leading analytics teams, working collaboratively with Product, Engineering and cross-functional partners, and guiding data-influenced product planning, prioritization, and strategy development. Ideally within a consumer-facing product environment

Demonstrated experience in hiring, retaining, and scaling geographically dispersed, high-performing teams.

Demonstrated experience influencing product strategy and driving change across organizational boundaries through clear and compelling communication of data-driven insights and analyses.

10+ years of experience in an analytical leadership role in technology, fintech or remittance industries.

10+ years of experience with SQL, Python (or R), or other programming languages, statistical modeling and experimentation. Deep understanding of A/B testing, experimental design, and statistical inference

Proven executive-level communication skills to influence product and cross functional teams. Ability to present complex concepts in a clear and actionable manner to diverse stakeholders.

Compensation Details. The starting base salary range for this position is typically $216,000 - $270,000. In the U.S., Remitly employees are shareholders in our Company and equity is part of our total compensation plan.
