The University System of Georgia (USG) is Georgia’s public university system comprised of 26 institutions with a space portfolio of 111M GSF at 70+ campuses and sites that support instruction, research, and extension. The position resides within the University System Office (USO), which provides central staff support to the Chancellor and governing Board of Regents (BOR) of the USG. The position reports within USO Real Estate and Facilities (REF), with information available at the department website:
Under the direction of the Vice Chancellor for Real Estate and Facilities, serves as the specialist to ensure Board of Regents goals and objectives are met on all alternatively financed capital projects (referred to as “real estate ventures”.) Serves as the principal liaison on real estate ventures design, construction, operations, and maintenance issues among the 26 USG institutions, affiliated foundations, and the various divisions of the University System Office. Provides a critical communication link between the Real Estate and Facilities function and the Finance team within Fiscal Affairs.

Supervisory Responsibilities
Supervises a staff of 1 to 2 Program Managers. Significant indirect supervisory responsibility of consultants, campus personnel, and others.
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field from an accredited four-year college or university and ten years related and progressively responsible experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Master’s or professional degree preferred. Professional registrations and certifications, as applicable to background architecture, engineering, construction, program management, etc.

Ability to read, analyze, interpret and apply Georgia Code, Board Policy, regulatory agency directives, governmental regulations, industry standards, general business periodicals, professional journals and technical procedures. Ability to effectively write reports, correspondence and speeches using original or innovative techniques or style. Ability to speak effectively. Ability to make effective and persuasive speeches and presentations on controversial or complex topics before the Board of Regents, elected officials, other State agencies, University System institutions, groups of employees, top management, clients, customers and the general public.
Computer Skills
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have strong organizational skills proficiency including knowledge of Database software; Graphics software; Project Management software; Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, and circumference. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situation s where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret, apply common sense understanding to, and carry out a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. Ability to discern varied legal and business issues and obtain optimal strategies for implementation of a diverse portfolio of transactional opportunities.
Ability to work independently, self-starter, excellent people skills
Ability to travel as required, within the State of Georgia.
