Job Summary
The Director, Treasury Capital Management (TCM), is responsible for the execution of the organization’s capital plan, including capital actions, and partners with colleagues across Treasury, Finance, Risk and the businesses. This role will lead the development and execution of capital plans and actions and initiatives, focusing especially on regulatory capital requirements and implications. The Director, TCM, closely partners with the Capital Management (CPCM) function within Finance, Corporate Planning and Capital Management, in capital planning and monitoring of both operating subsidiaries and the consolidated company. This role will partner closely with the second line of defense, Risk, to manage capital risk.

Essential Job Functions:
Capital Planning - Partner closely with CPCM in capital planning for both operating subsidiaries and the consolidated company. Makes recommendations to and agree with CPCM on planned capital actions and is directly responsible for executing capital actions and partnering with colleagues in Treasury, Risk, Finance and the business in doing so. Responsible in partnership with Finance and CPCM, for devising capital contingency plans and for executing related capital contingency actions. TCM and CPCM must jointly ensure that the organization’s legal entities comply with minimum regulatory requirements, as well as establish and comply with internal capital policy targets and other capital control metrics. Achieve balance among the interests and requirements of all entities within the organization. Partner with Finance, Risk and business colleagues to ensure unregulated entities operate with a sufficient level of capital, and that any surplus or deficits are adequately addressed.
Efficiency - In capital planning and execution, seek to achieve optimal allocation, structure, composition and efficiency of capital as measured by metrics. This will include, but is not limited to, earnings per share (EPS), return on equity (ROE), return on risk-based capital, return on investment (ROI), risk-based and leverage capital ratios, proportion of risk-weighted assets to leverage assets (“RWA intensity”), and double leverage.
Execution - Responsible for executing market facing capital actions, including share issuance and repurchase, and partnering with the Director, Treasury Markets and investor relations, in the issuance and repurchase of regulatory capital instruments. This will include, but is not limited to, subordinated debt and preferred stock. Responsible for the issuance and redemption of any inter-company capital items. The capital action execution responsibility of this role will require extensive partnership with Finance, Risk and the business lines. Partner with Corporate Strategy in the planning and execution of strategic initiatives, including new partnerships, acquisitions and disposals, focusing on the capital implications of such initiatives, for example capital efficiency including RWA or leverage reduction.
Stakeholder Engagement - In addition to partnering internally with senior Treasury, Finance, Risk, the business, and investor relations, engage with a variety of external stakeholders including but not limited to regulators, rating agencies, auditors, investors and analysts.

Normal office environment. As a senior leader, must work at a Bread Financial office a minimum of 5 days per month.

Minimum Qualifications:
-
Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, business or related field of study.
-
10+ years of experience in treasury, finance or risk fields, with increasing responsibility.
-
10+ years of experience in risk management and regulatory capital structure, including knowledge of related capital markets.
-
10+ years of experience leading a team of people in a professional setting.
-
Experience with 404 implementation and attestation for treasury/risk management.
-
Required to work from a Bread Financial office at least 5 days each month, regardless of hybrid or work-from-home status. Must be able to travel 5 days per month if needed, because of this requirement.
Preferred Qualifications:

Master’s degree in business administration, finance or accounting.

Experience with FX hedging strategies, FASS 133, financial derivative products, financial covenants, investment decisions and Sarbanes-Oxley S.
Typical Starting Range:
$131,700.00 - $272,700.00
Full Salary Range for position:
California:$151,600.00 - $340,900.00
Colorado:$131,700.00 - $286,400.00
New York:$144,800.00 - $340,900.00
Washington:$138,300.00 - $313,900.00
The actual base pay within this range may be dependent upon many factors, which may include, but are not limited to, work location, education, experience, and skills.

Six weeks of 100% paid parental leave for eligible parents is available after a 180-day waiting period. Hired associates can immediately enroll in Bread Financial’s 401(k) plan.
All associates receive 11 paid holidays. Associates have discretion in managing their time away from work through the Flexible Time Off (FTO) program and may need to notify and receive approval from their manager prior to taking the time off. Associates receive 80 hours of Paid Sick and Safety Time per calendar year at the beginning of each year and is prorated in the associate’s first year of employment.
Hired associates will be able to elect to purchase company stock during offering periods in June and December. You will be eligible for an annual incentive bonus based on individual and company performance.
