Product Designer

Position: Staff Product Designer About Disco... Disco is building a collaborative commerce platform that enables brands to partner effectively, acquire customers efficiently, and scale faster. We help premium DTC companies like The Honest Company, True Classic, Lovevery, Sol de Janeiro, and Caraway work together to accelerate growth in a cost-efficient manner, especially in light of regulatory and platform changes (e.g., cookie deprecation, iOS changes). Our ecosystem of independent ecommerce brands utilize Disco to #Grow Together outside of traditional marketing channels (e.g. Facebook and Google), while also benefiting from unique insights and information content that Disco offers its brands. We've raised $26 million in funding from established investors (Felicis Ventures, Bessemer Venture Partners, Shopify, Sugar Capital, River Park Ventures, and Indicator Ventures), to help merchants reduce their reliance on big tech platforms like Amazon and Facebook for customer acquisition and distribution. Since 2021, we have expanded our network to 1000+ brands, serving product recommendations to 90M+ shoppers & supporting $30B in e-commerce transactions. What we are looking for As an early member of the Disco design team, you will be shaping the foundation of both products and the company. You’ll have holistic ownership over user experiences that deliver delightful, organic discovery between the 1000+ Brands on our network and 3 million+ unique monthly active Shoppers. This role is the perfect fit for someone passionate about developing intuitive and creative patterns we can use to build better, more organic Brand discovery for shoppers. Responsibilities • Lead and demonstrate ownership over the user experience from insight to strategy to launch in partnership with Product, Engineering, Data Science, and Marketing. • Directly engage with Brands and Shoppers to shape problem/goal definition and new product development, developing a deep understanding of Disco’s business and growth opportunities. • Respectfully challenge the status quo, consistently raising the bar of existing products and experiences Disco offers. • Design end-to-end flows and experiences for Shoppers and Brands, including clear rationale, that are ready for engineering/stakeholder implementation and impactful launch. • Independently drive forward initiatives, indirectly managing upwards and sideways to accelerate Disco’s rate of product development for all teams involved. • Engage in active partnership with Product and CEO to shape, evolve, and conceptualize near-term execution and long-term Product strategy and prioritization. Must Haves • Designer with 6+ years of experience (Consumer/B2B2C oriented roles preferred). • Visual and interaction skills that demonstrate a high level of craft and expertise. • A curious self-starter with proven ability to thrive in a fast-moving environment, adding thoughtful structure that raises the bar. (Required) • Ability to turn abstract and ambiguous insights into clear conceptual direction, always solving for a user need even if not directly provided. • A strong bias for execution and tightly scoped initiatives with a “test and learn” philosophy to product development. • Excellent storyteller that effectively communicates not only the “what”, but also the “why” to foster thoughtful critique. • Strong systems mindset that accelerates the rate that Disco is able to drive impact for our users. • Track record of building strong, collaborative cross-functional relationships across a company and mentoring team. • A portfolio of your work that demonstrates a thoughtful, creative approach to addressing deeply understood consumer and/or business problems and shipping app/web products in a fast-paced environment. (Required) Benefits • Flexible PTO Policy • 12 Holidays + Christmas-New Years Holiday Closure (10 Days) • 3 Dis Connect Days • Medical, Dental, Vision, & Life Insurance • 401(k) • $250 Monthly Flexible Lifestyle Spending Stipend (i.e., Cell Phone & Internet, Wellness & Fitness, etc.) • $100 Monthly Stipend to Spend at Disco Brands • $127 Monthly Commuter Benefit • $500 for Home Office Setup • Lunch Provided in SF & NYC Offices Monday - Thursday At Disco, we believe that having a team of diverse backgrounds and voices working together will enable us to create innovative products that transform the way brands, consumers, and retailers collaborate and scale.
