Process Development Engineer – Ada, Michigan


DISHER is currently partnering with a leader in food stabilization in Ada, MI to fill their Process Development Engineer position. In this role, you will collaborate with sales, customers and key suppliers to ensure each system is designed efficiently, cost-effectively and in compliance with industry standards. Working collaboratively with sales, the process development engineer is responsible for the excellent execution in translating engineering concepts/early sales efforts into functional installations at customer sites.

What you will get to do:
  • Lead the company’s systems engineering, development of process components and system design that meet customer requirements, internal and industry standards and internal cost and margin requirements
  • Develop the process and designs for both proposals and new projects
  • Collaborate with sales, engineer, and outside vendors to develop and deliver optimal solutions
  • Lead onsite customer technical engagement including technical workshops, installations and post installation service and support
  • Develop new system recipes for processing customer specific materials
  • Perform process engineering activities in all project phases and according to the GTF product development process including feasibility/economic studies, conceptual design, identification and evaluation of alternatives, front-end design, detail engineer, construction and start up/commissioning
  • Conduct trials and tests to validate new processes and equipment
  • Train production staff on new processes and procedures


What will make you successful:
  • Bachelors degree in Chemical Engineer, Mechanical Engineering or a related field
  • Minimum of 5 years in food and beverage industry
  • Strong understanding of food manufacturing requirements and safety standards
  • Proficiency in statistical analysis and the usage of related software and tools
  • Strong project management, analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Experience with continuous improvement methodologies
  • Ability to travel to customer sites as needed
  • Experience in industrial automation and system controls
  • Must have the current and continuing right to work in the United States of America
