POSITION SUMMARY:
The individual will be responsible for assisting on various Federal, State, and Local tax research and planning projects.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Researching Federal, State, and Local tax laws
- Understanding, analyzing, and reviewing corporate transactions
- Researching tax implications of various planning scenarios
- May also include quantitative and clerical work Conduct research and provide documentation in support of company’s tax planning initiatives and tax return positions
- Monitor tax law changes and assist with the implementation of internal restructurings transactions
- Organize and document restructuring and other planning initiatives including the preparation of PowerPoints slides, work plans or project timelines, project binders, and internal file memos
EDUCATION, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- Enrolled in an MS Taxation or LL.M program
- Tax legal research skills – Bloomberg BNA, CCH AnswerConnect, RIA Checkpoint and Lexis/Nexis
- Accounting and analysis skills
- Strong computer skills – including knowledge of Excel and Word
- Good organizational skills
- Interested in a tax planning career
- Nine-month Term-Internship – must be available for part-time internship during the school year
SALARY RANGE:
The salary range for this position is $25 to $27. Where an employee or prospective employee is paid within this range will depend on, among other factors, actual ranges for current/former employees in the subject position; market considerations; budgetary considerations; tenure and standing with the company (applicable to current employees); as well as the employee’s/applicant’s background, pertinent experience, and qualifications.
