About The TeamThe People Business Partner will serve in a dual role covering the human resource and employee relations support for multiple teams in the Corporate Functions (G&A) teams at DoorDash. Working closely with our Centers of Excellence, this role will provide strategic consultation, counsel and expertise to these teams in the areas of Employee Relations, Organizational Design and Effectiveness; Workforce Planning; Performance Management; and Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion as well as tactical support on daily challenges. The role ensures managers are well-equipped to implement people solutions that will resolve employee relations matters, build a positive work climate, and enable compliance with relevant employment legislation.About The RoleThis role is additionally responsible for identifying trending issues, assessing root causes, and making recommendations on how to address systemic concerns. This role will lead several department wide programs, and significantly contribute to cross People team initiatives and objectives.You're Excited About This Opportunity Because...• Coach leadership on people strategy, including team structure (organizational design), strategic hiring, performance management, compensation, recognition, and learning and development.• Delivers high-quality decisions and counsel consistently to managers and employees. Identify and analyze employee matters and recommend appropriate employment action to maintain a productive work environment, achieve optimal performance, and minimize risk to the company.• Partner with leadership to define, execute, and track progress against org-specific people strategy Objectives & Key Results (OKRs) - leverage, anticipate and craft data informed recommendations.• Empower managers to build amazing teams through leadership development.• Assess employee development needs and recommend solutions.• Demonstrate a change management mindset through the identification of opportunities to enhance the employee experience through education, process improvement and innovative ideas; offer potential solutions to drive greater stakeholder satisfaction.• Maintain knowledge and awareness of all federal, state, and local labor/employment and wage and hour laws.• Lead client groups through DoorDash’s people programs (engagement surveys, performance reviews, compensation reviews, talent development, etc.).• Partner with the Culture, Belonging, and People Growth team to effectively execute our diversity, equity, and inclusion strategy.We’re Excited About You Because…• You have 6+ years of HR/ER experience with 3+ years of experience as an HR or ER Business Partner and/or 8+ years of HR/ People COE experience• You have the ability to think critically and anticipate issues before they arise, and proactively suggest long-term solutions.• You feel comfortable working with data and analytics, and are able to turn data into insights and compelling stories.• You have excellent judgment and the ability to make sound decisions independently.• You possess an exceptional ability to prioritize and manage time effectively – you naturally focus on the right things and can seamlessly move between projects & tasks, without losing sight of what's important to do.• You’re an outstanding communicator with strong relationship-building and influencing skills who can coach leaders through complex situations. You know when to listen, as well as when to speak up.• You have an owner mentality and problem solver with a strong bias for action that knows how to ask the right questions when you’re unsure.• Be sought out by our business leader for thought partnership on challenges they are facing• Focus on balancing qualitative and quantitative data to look around corners and make recommendations.• Keep a finger on the pulse of how our employees are experiencing DoorDash and relentlessly advocate for their needs.• Be a culture carrier who shapes and evolves the DoorDash experience in partnership with our business leaders.• Excellent interpersonal skills, including high EQ, ability to build trust and influence at all• Previous Tech/Startup experience a plus.We expect to fill this position by 10/25/2024.We use Covey as part of our hiring and / or promotional process for jobs in NYC and certain features may qualify it as an AEDT. Base salary is localized according to an employee’s work location. Ranges are market-dependent and may be modified in the future.In addition to base salary, the compensation for this role includes opportunities for equity grants.
