Job Summary
BMA is seeking a Senior Editor to join our team at Fort Leavenworth, KS supporting the Army University Publishing Support Program.
Duties
• Edit assigned material for compliance with style, grammar, document format, and use of Standard English.
• Advise and mentor authors/writers whose articles/manuscript submissions have been accepted for publication on content requirements, preparation, method of presentation and deadlines.• Research article topics when needed to verify facts.• Edit assigned material to ensure that facts, concepts, and ideas are appropriately documented/footnoted.• Ensure all Army University Press products are prepared for publishing.Clearance RequirementsThere is no clearance requirement for this position.Required Skills & Qualifications• Highly proficient with Microsoft Office Tools (Word, PowerPoint) and Adobe InCopy• Working knowledge of Adobe InDesign, SharePoint, and open web-source platforms (i.e. Joomag, WordPress).• Familiarity with the most current professional style guides and their use in preparing and editing academic papers and articles for publication, especially with The Chicago Manual of Style (CMS) and American Psychological Association (APA).Desired Skills & Qualifications• A bachelor’s degree or concentration in English or Journalism.Benefits• * Medical Benefits (Health, Dental, Vision, STD, LTD)• Health Savings Account• 401K Company Match up to 6%• Profit SharingOther DutiesThis job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of job duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job.
