Marketing Copywriter

This assignment posting is for an Agency Worker opportunity with Dotdash Meredith. The Agency Worker is paid by a staffing agency employer. Agency Workers will receive a W2 from the staffing agency reporting their earnings for tax purposes.  Final candidates will be required to complete a writing test before an offer is extended. 
Marketing Copywriter
Dotdash Meredith’s is seeking an experienced Marketing Copywriter to write compelling copy that motivates people to subscribe to our newsletters, enter our sweepstakes, and take action across our portfolio of iconic brands. You will join our Audience Relationship Team, a team of growth marketing audience conversion and retention specialists and newsletter editors.



Assignment Details: 

 

Approximately 35 hours a week
Start date: 9/30/2024 or first available
End date: 4 months with potential to extend
Hourly Rate: $35-$50 
Location: New York, NY. Hybrid/remote. Ability to work from the office 3 days a week.

 

Assignment Responsibilities:

 

In this role, you will: 
  • Review existing marketing asset copy across our portfolio of iconic brands, and identify improvement opportunities. Edit or rewrite the marketing asset copy to make it crisp, compelling, tailored to the brand’s voice and optimized for the creative format (social lead gen ads, onsite units, in-email marketing, etc).
  • Ideate and write compelling calls to action (CTAs) and copy that drives conversion to newsletter signup, sweepstakes entry and SMS program enrollment.   
  • Research, ideate and develop new value propositions we can test.
  • Craft persuasive copy tailored to the brand, marketing channel and target audience.
  • Write in the unique voice and tone of each of our brands; adhere to each brand’s edit guidelines and style guide.
  • Work closely with program strategists to understand the performance and KPIs of new, active and historical marketing campaigns. Incorporate data-informed feedback to refine copy and drive improvement.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including brand editorial, designers and program strategists.

 

Skills/Experience:

 

  • 5+ years experience writing marketing copy and developing value propositions
  • Ability to learn and adopt the voice, tone and edit guidelines of each of our brands
  • Demonstrated ability to distill marketing ideas into digestible copy
  • Experience with media, social, commerce, or B2C audiences
  • Ability to incorporate data-informed feedback into writing and edits
  • Ability to engage audiences and inspire user action through your copy
  • Able to pivot from mass market to niche audiences, and from one brand’s voice to another.
  • Strong writing and editing skills.
  • Detail-oriented, organized and able to work efficiently, independently, and accurately.
