This position can be located at Freeland, TX, Midland, MI, Collegeville, PA or any Dow location on the Gulf Coast. Virtual office may also be considered.As the Product Stewardship Manager, your time will be supporting P&SP’s Solution Polyethylene. You will support regulatory compliance, product safety, and product stewardship of current business opportunities and future growth. You will provide regulatory interpretation and guidance to the businesses and will participate in the development of product stewardship plans to ensure product safety and regulatory compliance. You will collaborate closely with the P&SP Product Stewardship team and with other stakeholders across functions like R&D, TS&D commercial, and operation teams to evaluate and support the development of P&SP technology and products by deploying product safety expertise and governance processes. You will liaise with the EHS&S function leveraging EHS&S work processes, regulatory expertise, and Product Safety resources to ensure new technology and products are registered, managed, and maintained in a safe and compliant manner. This role requires product knowledge in P&SP and product stewardship expertise to support North American regulatory requirements. Particularly, the US and Canadian Environmental Protection Agencies (i.e., EPA TSCA and CEPA) and other EHS&S regulations (e.g., hazard communication, trade secret, etc.).Responsibilities• Understands, integrates, and leverages various functional work processes, focused specifically on ensuring product safety and regulatory compliance for P&SP’s Solution Polyethylene in North America partnering with EHS&S functions in Operations, Research & Development, Technical Center, Derivatives, Legal, Commercial, Product Regulatory Services, Toxicology, and Excellence.• Gains a thorough understanding of product technology including hazards, product end-use applications (both supported and not supported) and existing product risk characterizations to enable appropriate risk management.• Maintains a network of product safety resources to engage for compliance and risk management activities.• Supports business sustainability goals.• Identifies and reports events that qualify for the Product Stewardship Metric• Reviews raw material suppliers and product formulations materials for regulatory compliance and addresses necessary registration needs to ensure safe and compliant operations.• Designs and delivers product stewardship, safe handling, and regulatory training for key internal and external stakeholders (e.g., customers, suppliers, regional leadership teams, etc.)• Partners with Product Stewardship leadership on relevant North American advocacy efforts related to safer materials and other regional specific concerns.• Develops and implements business-specific Product Stewardship MI plans that address business and company needs.• Provides leadership in translating business strategy to regulatory needs and monitors external changes to the regulatory landscape that may impact the business,• Reviews and approves product literature for appropriate EHS&S content.• Completes compliance-related customer inquiries within timelines given in the Customer Experience (CX) framework.• Assists in identifying and investigating customer EH&S incidents.• Ensures chemical regulatory compliance is met for each product.• Responsible for execution of key work processes (i.e. Business Risk Review, Management of Change, Change Management Tool request, etc.) and training the business on Product Stewardship work processes.• Initiates and conducts high risk, complicated, cross-business, and/or recurrent Business Risk Reviews (BRRs) to support business objectives.Required Qualifications:• A minimum of bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Toxicology, Industrial Hygiene, Engineering or in a Specialized EH&S Discipline (i.e., Product Stewardship, Product Regulatory, Toxicology, Sustainability) or relevant military experience at a U.S. E6 rank of Canadian Petty Officer 2nd Class or higher.• A minimum of five years of relevant experience in the industry (i.e., Petrochemical, Chemical, Refining Operations, Plastic Manufacturing) or in EHS&S related functional role (i.e., Product Stewardship, Product Regulatory, Toxicology, Sustainability).• Must have a current, valid US Driver’s License.• Possession of a TWIC card or eligibility to obtain a TWIC card may be required for this position based on final hiring location.
