Head of Product Strategy and Management

Dreamscape Learn, a pioneer in the realm of immersive virtual reality entertainment and learning design, is seeking a visionary Head of Product Strategy to work to drive the vision, strategy, and roadmap for our immersive VR education products. This leader will work closely with seniormost executive leadership, product teams, and key stakeholders to identify and analyze market opportunities; define product priorities and ensure product-market fit; and guide our teams to develop solutions that educators and student love and that lead to substantial enhancement of student success in both K-12 and post-secondary contexts. This role requires a forward-thinking individual with strong product commercialization expertise, a deep understanding of technology, and experience in the education technology space.

Responsibilities

  • Product Vision & Strategy
    • Refine and communicate a focused product vision and strategic roadmap that aligns with the company's mission, enhancing student success through engaging, immersive educational experiences. Collaborate to ensure product specifications and plans are aligned with this vision.
    • Define product objectives and performance metrics to ensure alignment with business goals and user needs, creating a competitive moat that enhances brand loyalty and customer retention.
    • Clearly define the key components of each core product, outlining the core features, tools, and standards that will provide value to users and address their specific needs
  • Market & Competitive Analysis
    • Lead and conduct thorough market research to identify trends, user needs, and competitive dynamics in the education and ed-tech industries.
    • Identify and analyze new opportunities in immersive education to expand product offerings and differentiate our solutions in the marketplace, ensuring strong product market fit and a sustainable competitive advantage.
  • Business Development and Strategic Partnerships
    •  Engage with customers, educators, and institutional stakeholders to understand pain points and develop solutions that meet their needs.
    • Drive business development efforts and form strategic partnerships to expand product reach, enhance value propositions, and support growth objectives.
    • Act as a spokesperson for the product vision internally and externally, presenting to stakeholders, investors, and clients.
  • Roadmap Execution
    • Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of the product roadmap, ensuring that deadlines are met and high-quality standards are maintained.
    • Manage the product development lifecycle, from ideation to launch and post launch optimization, in collaboration with the product and engineering teams.
    • Collaborate with engineering, production, marketing, and sales teams to ensure strategic alignment across departments.
  • Data-drive Decision Making
    • Utilize data analytics and user feedback to drive decision-making, ensuring that products are both user-centric and market-driven.
    • Continuously monitor and assess product performance, recommending pivots or adjustments as needed to optimize outcomes.
  • 7+ years in relevant product strategy and/or product management, with at least 3 years in a leadership role; prior experience in VR, AR, or education technology preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree; MBA or Master’s degree in a relevant discipline preferred.
  • Significant experience in digital media with substantive experience in VR a big plus
  • Strong commercial acumen, including an analytical and data-driven approach to decision-making, with experience in using market data, user insights, and performance metrics to inform product strategy.
  • Proven experience leading in a matrixed org structure and facilitating cross-functional teams, fostering a collaborative culture, and driving product innovation in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex ideas to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Passion for understanding student and educator needs and delivering solutions that provide meaningful value in a commercial context where innovation, creativity

  • Background in education technology or learning sciences, with a strong understanding of how technology can enhance educational outcomes preferred.
  • Comfortable working in a dynamic, fast-growing environment.

  • Compensation $190,000 - $210,000 per annum (DOE)
